Huge win against Seattle's Mayor who tried to tie cops hands by restricting use of CCTV cameras to fight crime. Outstanding job by SPOG President Kent Loux! Listen to the whole story on the UCOPS Podcast. @SPOG1952@ICEgov
250 Years of Independence
“Happy 4th of July America”
My family wasn’t rich enough to fly in on a plane overlooking Ellis Island. We migrated here for a better life built with the promises of FREEDOM and a better way of life for family.
On this Anniversary of freedom we appreciate everything that has been afforded us thanks to the founders who had a Great Vision to be better!
Learn the history of those who came here not to feed off of riches given to them …but add to the rich culture that existed never accepting handouts that were never repaid.
Yesterday we heard 2 speeches that that were polar opposites. One from a national monument the other behind a desk not even positioned the right way. Listen to them both and the messages are clear….elections have consequences!
Yesterday I was embarrassed for the people and the supposed leaders of New York….but by the end of the night proud as always to be an American.
Happy Birthday America and thank you to all those that sacrificed to make this country great.
To the Haters…..well 🇺🇸🫡
A very shortsighted budgetary decision that will cost more in overtime, worn out officers, and low morale, as well as accelerated retirements to take advantage of higher retirement benefits because of the increased overtime generated salary increases. Retirement benefits that will cost the City tens of millions of dollars every year for the next 40 years. All to satisfy the far left cop-hating base.

Sergeant’s Benevolent Association President Vincent Vallelong joined @sidrosenberg to discuss how @NYCMayor Mamdani & Speaker @JulieMenin 's reckless and deceitful budget agreement will defund the #NYPD, exacerbate the current staffing shortages, and jeopardize public safety.
“[The budget] pretty much made every single New Yorker a lot less safe,” said Vincent Vallelong, President of the SBA. “We lost 66 supervisors across the city. You're going to tell me this hiring freeze is not going to damage public safety going forward."
“The ability to do more with less is always a true testament to the cops and their supervisors,” said SBA President Vincent Vallelong.
“Yet this begs the question — how much longer can the staffing levels of the NYPD bend before it breaks?"

Thank you to the elected officials and community leaders who joined us at Friday’s SBA Family Picnic.
It was a great opportunity to spend time with our members, their families, and those who continue to support the work of NYPD Sergeants.
We appreciate everyone who came out, shared in the day, and helped make it a memorable event.
Congratulations to Sgt Andy Jean Claude on being featured in this week’s Sergeant Benevolent Association & 77WABC’s Sergeant Spotlight. Thank you for all you do for NYC! @sbanypd
Sergeant Andrew McInnis credits his late father, retired Detective Neil McInnis, for a rewarding NYPD career.
The family legacy continues with his daughter, Recruit Olivia McInnis, who is set to graduate from the Police Academy.
Happy Father’s Day!
Congratulations to Sgt Carmen Mateo on being featured in this week’s Sergeant Benevolent Association & 77WABC’s Sergeant Spotlight. Thank you for all you do for NYC! @sbanypd
"This is a hard no," said SBA President Vincent Vallelong. "This will send pensions down a slippery slope." Vallelong said pension trustees have a fiduciary responsibility to protect retirement funds & warned against treating them as budget relief.

After a brief review of the First Amendment, the Mayor’s Office has retracted its request that SPOG remove our post.
They also said they “Look forward to working with the police union in the future.”
Freedom of Speech: 1
Mayor’s Office: 0
@MayorofSeattle
Seriously, does anyone beleive this BS? "coupled with systematic resistance to change, & restrictive collective agreement" CBA negotiated by both parties not just Union🤦🏻"majority of allegations...found to be “vexatious, frivolous" Huh, accross all ranks? https://t.co/sYX1Xfqm1j
To those who came before us that led the way ahead of us. On this Memorial Day remember what they sacrificed. If we do not…. be fearful of what will come.
Thanks Uncle Ed!
Harassment, threats, violence, racial abuse, sexual abuse - officers are facing it all while trying to do their jobs.
That’s why UCOPS is proud to support the HALO Act, legislation to protect cops online and on duty from agitators who cross the line.
