The violence continued for 35 days. Seventeen Hindus were killed, including twelve Yadavs. Ramprasad Yadav’s body reportedly lay at Salapur Mod for two days because anyone attempting to recover it was allegedly driven back by Mukhtar Ansari’s armed men.

The Yadav community, enraged by the killings, began organizing in response. Yet the Samajwadi Party chose political expediency over its own core support base. Instead of standing with the bereaved Yadav families, it sided with the Muslim leadership, leaving the Yadavs feeling abandoned.

SHOCKER! | Mohammad Shadiq, father of five daughters from his first wife, brutally killed his second wife after she gave birth to a son; strangled her, dumped her body and crushed her face with a brick. Shadiq, his mother and two brothers arrested for murder in UP.

Sheeba, who had a daughter from her previous marriage, had a court marriage with Shadiq. He reportedly told his family that he married her because he wanted a son. Around 18 months later, they had a son.

After the birth of the son, Shadiq reportedly began distancing himself from his first wife. His family allegedly sent Sheeba back to her first husband, but Shadiq later contacted her again and called her back.

On August 20, Shadiq took Sheeba in a car along with his first wife and mother, while one of his brothers followed them on a motorcycle. Police say Shadiq, his first wife and mother strangled Sheeba inside the car, dumped her body in a field and crushed her face with a brick to conceal her identity.

The incident took place in the Sardhana police station area of Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh.
