@invest_mutual@SandeepParekh Some of these proposals make sense too. For example, Research costs don't scale with AUm, infact they should reduce dramatically. so defending a bps based charge is not tenable.

Echoes of the Ghost: The Satoshi Heist of 2030
Washington, D.C. – January 15, 2030
The Oval Office was stripped down to near silence — a simple desk, a muted laptop, and a small bronze bust of Satoshi Nakamoto. Behind it sat President Jack Dorsey, once the barefoot prophet of decentralization, now the most powerful central authority on Earth.
He’d once dreamed of being mayor of New York — of debugging the city’s transit system. Now he was debugging a country.
On the wall display, the national debt counter ticked past $42.67 trillion. Interest payments consumed almost a third of the federal budget. Treasury auctions were anemic, and digital-currency reserves abroad were surging. The United States was running on borrowed consensus.
Across from him sat Dr. Mira Chen, Google’s Chief Quantum Architect; Undersecretary of the Treasury David Bailey, founder of Nakamo, the private Bitcoin-treasury firm that had helped Fortune 500s and even nations add BTC to their balance sheets; and Kira Voss, the NSA’s crypto-liaison.
Chen spoke first. “Mr. President, Willow-7 reached full coherence overnight — 1.2 million error-corrected qubits, stable at five-nines fidelity. We executed Shor’s algorithm against Bitcoin’s secp256k1 curve. We can now derive private keys from any public address.”
Bailey’s jaw tightened. “You mean the address.”
Chen nodded. “Yes. The genesis wallet. Roughly one million bitcoins — about a trillion dollars.”
For a long moment Dorsey said nothing. His eyes lingered on the bronze bust.
Few knew that, in 2009, he’d been part of the small, pseudonymous group behind Team Satoshi. His contribution had been minor — heartbeat scripts to keep the earliest nodes from going idle. His keys were lost on a reformatted laptop years before Bitcoin had any price. The point had never been to own it. The point had been to make sure it lived.
Now the only thing still alive was the debt clock.
Bailey broke the silence. “Jack, this crosses every line we used to draw in permanent ink. You’re not rescuing the network — you’re repossessing it. From yourself.”
Voss’s voice was flat. “Under the 2027 Digital Dormancy and National Security Act, unclaimed digital assets can be recovered for stabilization. Legally, it’s reclamation, not theft.”
Dorsey gave a tired half-smile. “Reclamation. That’s what I used to call bug fixes.”
Chen leaned forward. “We pair the recovery with BIP-420 — Quantum Aegis. Lattice-based Dilithium signatures, NIST-approved, backward-compatible. We close the hole after we use it. It’s not a hijack; it’s a hard reset.”
Bailey folded his arms. “A reset run by the same people who broke the code. You realize Nakamo’s entire premise was that Bitcoin didn’t need saviors.”
Dorsey’s voice softened. “Sometimes the heartbeat stalls. Somebody has to shock it back.”
He turned toward the rain-blurred window. “When I ran Twitter, I learned you can’t moderate truth — only sequence it. This will need timing more than justification.”
He looked back at them.
“Proceed. Quietly. Call it Operation Ghost Harvest. And if the world asks who gave the order—tell them it came from the ghost himself.”

Why Indian Mutual Funds are a PFIC tax compliance headache for US based NRIs
I was recently looking at the US Tax Return of a friend (let's call him Vijay), who works in the US. He is Indian by citizenship. I was shocked to see the detailed filing of his Indian mutual fund investments. Each of the mutual funds was reported in a separate form with information on any dividends, interest or sale proceeds.
One mutual fund, which had been sold in the previous calendar year, was taxed at the maximum marginal rate of US (about 37%). Not just that, the gains were distributed over the entire period of holding (overlapping with US tax residency) and additional interest was levied for those years.
My head was spinning. I asked Vijay about this treatment.
"Well, the tax firm that files for me has done all of this. I just give them the information. No idea otherwise." He was quite casual about it.
For a while, I was blank and the only question that came to my mind was, "With such a punitive tax treatment, why would NRIs in the US invest in Indian Mutual Funds?"

Who makes money from the markets?
Not the pessimist.
The markets offer a simple opportunity to build wealth. Just focus on the process - invest and stay for a long period of time. Don't get distracted in the short term. Follow your risk capacity, tolerance and let it reflect in your asset allocation.

I honestly don’t know what @PMCPune does! Every road in Pune within the city limit has garbage and construction waste dumped by the roadside, even the Pune-Bengaluru highway between Bavdhan and Baner. Mounds and mounds of festering plastic garbage, just piling up every day!
No one clears it up or fines the people who dump garbage and construction waste. There are no corporators to complain to as there have been no municipal elections. PMC officials have no fear of losing their jobs, so they do nothing at all!
There are huge, blatantly illegal furniture showrooms near the Sus Road overpass. Everyone knows they are illegal. Once a year PMC wakes up, demolishes a few, the shops come up in under 24 hours by paying hafta to the corrupt PMC officials, rinse and repeat! @mohol_murlidhar@AjitPawarSpeaks@Medha_kulkarni@ChDadaPatil
Life in a #smartcity called #Pune. No power for the last 8 hours. @MSEDCL can’t keep up with repairing the crumbling cables, though their staff does try. Takes more than 20 minutes to cross one km, no arrangements for proper garbage disposal. Mountains of trash by the roadside. Authorities are sleeping. A public company CEO told me AI coding has had negligible impact on his engineering teams, instead the real transformation has been on their product and design teams using Replit.
I asked him how does he reconcile this with CEOs saying that 25-50% of code is generated by AI?
He said that’s also true in their case—AI does generate a lot of their code—but that whatever time saved in generating the code is lost back in debugging, reverting bugs, and security audits. So if you measure time to ship, PRs merged, or whatever high-level metric you don’t see any impact.
Whereas his non-technical teams gained a fundamentally new super power of being able to make software. Prototyping with Replit makes iteration speed incredibly faster before it gets to engineering. And non-product teams—like HR—can for the first time solve problems where vendors don’t have the exact solutions they’re looking for.
I was surprised to hear the part about engineering teams, and I’m sure every company will be different, but it made sense the profound impact coding agents are having on non-technical folks.
One of the earliest holders of BTC sold a massive quantity most likely for dollars.
My question is thenwhat exactly is Bitcoin? A new currency / medium of exchange (created because of central bank tyranny) or a digital asset class (for the greater fools)?
If the first, there is no point selling - because you want to be on the right side when the money order changes in the world.
What do you think?
