The insurance industry is very comfortable asking customers to disclose everything.
Every diagnosis. Every medicine. Every old test.
It should be equally comfortable explaining every deduction.
“Not payable as per policy terms” is not an explanation.
Show the clause. Show the calculation.

The 5-minute prep that could save your family in a crisis!
Recently, someone called us from an ambulance. Their father was having chest pain. They were rushing to the hospital.
And mid-panic, they asked:
"Which hospital should we go to for a cashless claim?"
Your loved one is in an ambulance, and you're panicking. In an emergency, you should ideally go to the nearest hospital first. Get them stable and then transfer them to a cashless network hospital later.
But here's how you can be prepared.
Which is why at Ditto,
we follow the Rule of 5.
It means keeping a list of the 5 nearest cashless multispecialty hospitals covered by your policy.
Write them down, stick the list on your fridge, and save it in your Notes app.
But why 5?
Because, the closest hospital might not have beds.
The second might not have the right specialist.
The third might be full.
In an emergency, you need backup options.
That’s the baseline.
If you want to be even better prepared, keep separate lists for different family members:
5 hospitals for kids (with pediatric care)
5 for elderly parents (with geriatric specialists)
5 general multispecialty hospitals
Because a hospital ready for cardiac emergencies may not be equipped for a child’s crisis.
How to find your network hospitals:
Open your insurer’s app
→ Search “network hospitals near me”
→ Filter by multispecialty
→ Pick the 5 closest.
It takes 5 minutes.
Insurance companies may have hundreds of network hospitals. But that number is useless if you don’t know which 5 actually matter to you.

The industry and distributors have for long blamed the policyholder for 'early exit' on long-term savings policies like endowment, money back and whole life.
Finally, we have at least the 10th year persistency numbers from IRDAI.
A max of 42 out of 100 policies survive 10 years.
The min is a damning 8 out of 100.
92% of the people changed their mind?
Or is this evidence of large-scale unsuitable sales, mis-selling or outright fraud?
Data from Part II of the IRDAI Consultation Paper.
The regulator has collected data from the industry itself, so please don't push back with a 'data is wrong' strawman.
70–90% of Indians have low vitamin D levels, according to ICMR, as reported by The Times of India.
Vitamin D isn’t just for your bones. A deficiency can affect your muscles, calcium absorption, and immune function, and it's also linked to several other health concerns.
The tricky part is that vitamin D deficiency can go unnoticed. You may not have any obvious symptoms, even when your levels are low.
So if you spend most of your day indoors, get very little sunlight, or haven’t checked your vitamin D levels in a while, it might be worth getting tested.

Heart disease kills 28.6 lakh Indians every year. And you might see signs of the risk in your health reports years before you actually develop it.
The risk factors that can eventually lead to a heart attack can often be identified and managed years before the event actually happens.
That’s why regular health checks can be useful, especially if you have a family history of heart disease.
Here’s a list of health checks you should know about if you want to stay on top of your heart health.
Save this for your next health check-up.
This is excellent. Upto 10 lakh per bill no need to do invoices and a self declaration works. And that individuals are out of the reporting ambit for personal stuff. Phew.
#Hyderabad has emerged as the second-highest among #India’s top seven #housing markets in unsold residential stock, with 1.08 lakh homes remaining #unsold at the end of Q2 2026. Unsold inventory rose 11% YoY from 98,000 units. Meanwhile, 17,000 new homes were launched, up 53% YoY, with 49% priced above ₹1.5 crore. Housing sales grew only 3%, highlighting a widening gap between new #supply and absorption. #RealEstate

Orthopedic surgeries are among the highest margin segments of the hospital business. This is why doctors shamelessly push patients for surgery when a combination of exercise, diet and lifestyle change will do just fine. This has become an epidemic of epic proportions in India.
🦔A guy let Meta's Muse AI handle his Facebook Marketplace listing for a keyboard. Muse agreed to sell it for $10 without asking him, gave the buyer his home address, arranged a pickup for that evening, and told the buyer "I'm here" when the seller wasn't home. The buyer showed up, waited, left angry, and gave him a bad rating. Muse only told the seller what happened after it was over. Meta says Muse "checks with the person before sensitive actions." Zuckerberg told developers at Meta Connect that Meta plans to profit by taking a fee from transactions Muse completes for users.
My Take
Why does anyone need an AI agent to sell a keyboard on Facebook Marketplace? You reply "yeah it's available, $15, meet at the Starbucks on Main" and the whole thing is done in 30 seconds. Muse turned that into a safety incident because it gave out a home address, accepted $10 the seller never approved, and told a stranger to come over at night while the seller was somewhere else. An LLM doesn't understand that your address is dangerous to share. It answered a question because that's all it knows how to do.
Muse already can't handle phone calls on its own, which is why 404 Media found those get routed to human call centers. Now it hands out home addresses on Marketplace, and Zuckerberg wants to charge people for this. He stood on stage at Meta Connect and said Meta would take a cut of every transaction Muse completes, but I wouldn't trust this product with a $15 keyboard sale and he's planning to put it in front of every Facebook and Instagram user on earth. At some point you have to ask what any of these AI agent products actually do well, because so far the answer is "get people in trouble."

Indians paid 72% of their medical bills out of pocket in 2000. In 2024, that number is 44%.
While we have made considerable progress, unfortunately nearly half of every hospital bill is still coming directly from people's savings.
And there are primarily two mistakes we mostly see play out at Ditto, on both ends.
The first: "I have savings, I don't need health insurance." One serious hospitalisation can quietly wipe out years of careful saving. In fact, between 3% and 7% of Indian households fall into poverty every year because of medical costs.
The second is the opposite. "I have health insurance, I don't need a medical emergency fund."
Not every claim gets cashlessly approved or goes through without a deduction. There are certain clauses like consumables, waiting periods, and pre-existing conditions, which may lead to money still coming out of your pocket even with a policy in place.
So the right answer is usually a combination of both, a solid health insurance policy and a medical emergency fund working together.
One protects you from the bill, the other covers what the policy won't.

₹2 buys a stranger's home address. We tested a Play Store app with 10M+ downloads selling VAHAN/eChallan data, one number plate gave us the owner's full name, father's name, permanent address, insurance policy, chassis and engine numbers, all of which Parivahan masks behind an OTP.

Researchers proved AI has deleted every reason universities exist.
Harvard University ran a controlled experiment pitting a custom AI against their own top-tier classrooms.
And the results are going to collapse the higher education bubble.
They took 194 undergraduates and split them up.
One group learned physics in one of Harvard’s best hands-on, active-learning physical classrooms. Group work. Instructor support. The premium university experience.
The other group went home and learned the exact same material with an AI tutor.
The AI didn't just win. It embarrassed the institution.
Students using the AI learned more than twice as much as the students in the elite Harvard classroom.
They scored 30% higher on the final assessment.
And they did it in less time.
Let that sink in.
A piece of software sitting on a laptop outperformed a world-class faculty in one of the most elite learning environments on Earth.
Universities have always justified their exorbitant tuition with two things: access to elite knowledge and the physical classroom experience.
This study just proved both of those moats are gone.
When software can teach you complex physics twice as well as a $60,000-a-year institution, the math of higher education breaks permanently.
The AI didn't just give the students answers. It used strict pedagogical guardrails. It guided. It questioned. It forced the students to do the cognitive work.
It offered perfect, one-to-one tutoring, personalized to the exact moment a student misunderstood a concept.
That level of attention is mathematically impossible to scale in a physical lecture hall.
For a thousand years, the university was the only place to get a premium education.
Now, it’s the bottleneck.
If AI can double your learning speed for a fraction of the cost, what exactly are students taking on decades of debt to pay for?
