@MBetanoid @anon_opin My Dad did that with a stack of paving slabs he couldn't be arsed taking to the tip - broke them all up with a sledgehammer and tossed a couple of bits in the wheelie bin once a week for months. Not convinced it was a net saving of effort, tbh.

@prestonchris86 @anon_opin Case could be made that they're qualitatively comparable - both are unnecessary nonconsensual surgeries. However, quantitatively, the harm caused by FGM is on a completely different level. I oppose circumcision, but wouldn't equate it to FGM.

@ThomasFarebrot1 @theoilcheck @SidneyCarton106 @anon_opin As with any surgery, circumcision carries a risk of infection, which in turn carries a risk of death. The individual chances are small, but with enough procedures carried out some kids will inevitably be killed by being circumcised.

That's your decision as an adult with bodily autonomy, same as ear piercing, tattoos and other cosmetic body modifications. But doing it to kids who can't consent is straight up abuse, whatever the purported reasons.

@craigdick1874 @theJeremyVine @Edinburgh_CC It's not an accident if someone is at fault. And nothing is "waiting to happen" - drivers are consciously choosing to ignore road signage and make dangerous illegal turns. If someone gets hurt here, it is 100% on the driver.

@monkeycloud4 @JasonManford The original version works better as the closing track of a cohesive whole album, the Cash version works better as a standalone recording. Context matters, imo. (And for the record I'm biased as a massive NIN fan!)
