If India and Pakistan go to war , will Starlink do to India what US told Starlink to do to Russia by supporting Ukraine ? US has supported Pakistan in all Indo- pak wars . It’s the only real issue stopping Starlink in India , not Ambani or Airtel .
Starlink is a national security risk and competent sovereign nations should severely cap it. Imagine handing over your country’s internet to a warmongering foreign country known for sanctioning everyone who disagrees with their definition of freedom and democracy.
So why do you block other companies to enter your country? to protect your interests right?
It's never about helping people with starlinks internet, all their want is the data.
Elon is right to demand answers.
India once had more than a dozen telecom operators competing for customers. Today, Jio and Airtel account for nearly 77% of India’s wireless subscriptions.
What is the harm in adding another competitor? Healthy competition encourages providers to offer better prices and service, giving consumers more choice and better value.
Starlink could offer Indian households, businesses and communities another broadband option, especially in remote villages, mountains and islands where expanding existing networks is difficult.
Indians deserve greater transparency, better connectivity and the freedom to choose. Let Starlink compete and let consumers decide.
Didn't you saw that Starlink devices were found in Manipur distress, a lot of people say that they have all the data of people and it's pegasus at scale and why to put all out data in foreign data centres if we have a better infra at home,
Ask a question will US allow Reliance to set up oil refinery in US and the answer will be "NO" they protect their interests and we should ours.
I agree with we should have have more competition between companies here, but it should not come at the cost of our infra, which is already working well, we have access to cheapest internet in the world, so things don't makes sense to me.
True Starlink's internet prices are not even closer to what of other providers do in India, and also they are not complaining to with national security measures they say.
Sorry to say Elon, you can’t beat those Indian oligarchs even if you’re the richest person alive. Those oligarchs give out the cheapest internet on the planet that even you can’t afford to match. India was basically getting free internet in late 2016, and from 2016 to 2026 the average cost of data crashed down to like 10 cents per gigabyte (₹7 to ₹10) or even less. Nowadays with 5G, these oligarchs are giving out near 1 Gbps speeds for pennies, and home broadband is even cheaper for like $5 to $18 (₹400 to ₹1,500) a month, you get unlimited fiber up to 3.3 TB, speeds up to 1 Gbps, and every major OTT subscription bundled in.
Compare that to your pricing. You’re talking about charging ₹30,000+($300+) upfront just for a dish kit and around ₹8,000+ ($100) every single month. Even if you burn cash and make it free for the first year, the second you hike prices back to Western rates, Indians will completely fuck you over just like how Tesla got fucked in India against local players.
Massive respect to you, of course, because that’s the exact kind of bank balance anyone dreams of having :). Massive respect for that bank balance, and for revolutionizing payments first with email-based money transfer, then electric cars, and then private reusable rockets you’ve inspired a lot of us for literally everything, and everyday, but yeah, India is an entirely different game. Those book theories and MBA frameworks don't work in India in front of Marwari, Jain, or Gujarati maths :). Running the exact same playbook everywhere just doesn't work. If you want to come to India, you have to learn jugaad, cutthroat bargaining, trust, and how to deliver crazy volume at dirt-cheap prices.
Indians are already pulling 1 Gbps speeds for pocket change, so try building an infrastructure that cheap before thinking you can take on these oligarchs. In fact, you should pray those Indian oligarchs don't enter the US or Europe market, because if they bring those prices over there, your bank balance will get completely fucked. Until you drop Starlink down to 5 to 10 cents a gig and make the hardware basically free, nobody here is touching it.
@sanskar_goyal11 Bro learning a lot from your Yt podcasts these days, I know there are quite a lot of podcasts in India now but, you are too rich in content love your work mate.
