How lucky is this little guy (age: 10 months) to have an entire collection of grownups hanging on his every move?

It’s something we should aspire to for every child.

Here’s why:

The period from prenatal to age three is uniquely consequential. It’s during this time that the brain is “wired” in ways that will ultimately support - or hinder - children’s longterm success.

And to a large extent, this metaphorical wiring results from nurturing, attentive interactions with the significant adults in children’s lives - which makes every one of us a potential contributor to children’s optimal development.

Whether you’re a parent, a grandparent, a teacher, an aunt or uncle, a neighbor, a friend… your time is never wasted showing attention and kindness to the children in your lives.

So give it freely and be a brain builder. 🧠

Add a class in school called “Comedy”. Make it mandatory.

Teach them what to laugh at. How to deliver a joke or tell a story. And, how & when to take a joke.

But most of all, lots of laughter. Might be the only laughs some of these kids have each day.
