Thank you to the 7M active users who are now using Codex and ChatGPT Work.
We have added a banked reset to everyone's account to celebrate the milestone. You can apply the reset in the desktop app or on web and it will replenish the weekly usage for you.
Have fun out there.
LinkedIn just suggested OnlyFans as our direct competitor ๐ญ
- both have APIs
- both do subscriptions
- both provide "access"
- both have high retention
๐คทโโ๏ธ can't argue with the data.
โLet me introduce myselfโฆโ = youโve already lost.
Nobody wakes up thinking: โDamn, I hope a stranger introduces themselves to me today.โ
People don't care who you are. They care why you matter to them โ right now.
Relevance beats intros. Context beats titles. Timing beats โhelloโ.
Introduce yourself only after youโve earned attention.
@johnrush our API is primarily for individual teams building their own integrations (usually via n8n/Make/Zapier or SDK), not for apps embedding LinkedIn functionality
open to white label partnerships for app integrations, but haven't done those yet tbh
cold outreach = asking for sex on the first date ๐ฆ
hear me out. guy approaches stranger: "Hi! I'm cool, let's have sex right now" conversion? terrible
same guy emails CEO: "Hi! We're great developers, book a call now" conversion? also terrible
both are "first date sex" propositions. at least in person you can see who's asking. in email, it's straight to spam
real dating needs: multiple dates, personality, interest, trust, sometimes meeting parents B2B needs: exact same thing - relationship building before the sale
if you're selling services to western startups, stop relying on "first date sex" strategy. it doesn't work. and when it occasionally does, you probably won't like the client anyway ๐
build relationships first. sell later.
๐ What we did to make LLMs recommend Linked API.
(we got 277 visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude last month!)
Nothing special, just making it easy for LLMs to find, understand and trust the product:
- markdown-based layout + fast site
- presence in 20+ high-DR directories
- comprehensive API documentation
- active GitHub (open source increases trust)
Surprisingly effective channel if you're in B2B SaaS.
โ Why we stopped using Clay.
(sure, it's crazy expensive, but that's not the issue).
the data is just... OLD. like really old. 6+ months for most companies and for startups that launched recently? Clay has zero clue. no employees, no decision makers, no funding rounds, no hiring activity
basically missing everything you need for modern outreach and go-to-market.
๐คฆโโ๏ธ Searched my company employees in Clay vs Linked API.
Clay: 1 employee found
Linked API: 6 employees found (full team)
we're a young company, like most startups you're probably selling to. Clay's database simply hasn't caught up yet. won't for another 6+ months
Linked API pulls data in real-time. same table format, actually complete, and you don't pay per row
stale data = blind spots in your pipeline
๐ if you're serious about LinkedIn, track your Connection Rate.
formula: (accepted requests / sent requests) ร 100
this single number tells LinkedIn whether to trust your account or not. good rate = better post distribution, higher limits, more visibility. bad rate = you're getting throttled
we calculate ours in Notion since all our LinkedIn activity goes through Linked API + n8n workflows and logs automatically. makes it easy to spot trends and adjust strategy
the baseline? 30% minimum. anything lower means you're either targeting the wrong people or your profile isn't strong enough to convert
me after checking Clay's data accuracy again
(yes I'm literally jumping into water)
nothing like paying $350/month for "enriched data" and finding out half the people changed jobs 6 months ago
doing a proper comparison post soon โ Clay vs Linked API. stale databases vs real-time data. stay tuned ๐ถ๏ธ
so I've been doing this thing at meetups and people always think it's fake
literally told Claude "find this person from Lisbon and connect in LinkedIn" and it happened.
people don't believe it until they see the request pop up on their phone in real time
that's Linked API MCP in action โ lets any AI assistant control your LinkedIn. searches, messages, connection requests, whatever
