Bastar to Boston

NMDC to groom NMDC Hyderabad Marathon winner Fuldhar Netam, a runner from Bastar, for the Boston Marathon.

The aim is to transform him into an elite athlete capable of competing at the upcoming Marathon in the United States.

While NMDC Chairman and Managing Director Amitava Mukherjee felicitated him for his achievement and handed over a Rs 5 lakh cheque, Director (Personnel) Krishna Kumar Thakur said the company would examine all possible avenues to support Netam, including structured coaching, scientific training, access to professional facilities and participation in international competitions.

NMDC Hyderabad Marathon, 2026

India’s 2nd-largest marathon.

The 10Km run was flagged off by Shri Vivek Nishant Nath, Director (Commercial); Dr M Ramesh (IPS), CP, Cyberabad; and Mr V. Vaidyanathan, MD & CEO, IDFC First Bank, among others.

Encouraging the NMDC-sponsored runners from Bastar, Shri Nath said, “NMDC is not only known for being responsible in mining, but the company is better known for its commitment towards society”.

More than 32,000 runners took part.

Significant milestone has been achieved at NMDC’s Screening Plant-III (SPIII), Kirandul, Chhattisgarh, with the successful load trial run of the Primary Screen, marking an important step towards commissioning of the system.

This is to bring to your kind notice that following the Odisha Govt. Finance Department order No.6747/F, Dtd.14.03.2024 regarding revised HRA, the PE Dept. has issued order of revised HRA for PSUs vide Office Memorandum No. 1269/PE dated 11.04.2025. However, the Clause#2 (m) of this order which narrates as “This shall be effected from its date of issue” has created a confusion among PSUs and leads to mis-interpretation. Many PSUs have implemented HRA w.e.f 14.03.2024 referring the State Govt. Finance Dept. order No.6747/F, Dtd. 14.03.2024 and few PSUs are in dilemma which date to consider? You are therefore requested to kindly direct the concerned office to clarify the effective date by a modified order/addendum at the earliest.
