@seanbamforth@JerusalemDemsas@besttrousers Joe Biden gave him credit for it in his 2023 State of the Union address, calling PEPFAR a "huge success." And here's a statement from Pelosi giving him credit. https://t.co/iMqex2EOWz
@JM4LISD@mattyglesias And the Israelis don’t want a Palestinian state. They’re illegally occupying and settling Palestinian land. As long as both of those things are true they’ll be no Peace.
@FiftySeth@neeratanden Isn't figuring out why Dems lost 2024 a good way to improve in 2028? Dems made the mistake of thinking they won 2008 because Hispanic voters were turned off by the border crack down, and that arguably cost them in 2016 and 2024.
@Hellsing81@stevehwilson@mattyglesias You think voters in GA stayed home because of Gaza? Have you been to Georgia? Literally no one there gives a fuck about Gaza.
@joel_krahn@jpodhoretz I said their careers could be damaged "IF" they went public. That's why they're being anonymous.
Who are you talking about? Because when I said "people have talked about diminished abilities in Biden" I was talking about staffers.
@joel_krahn@jpodhoretz It's not. There is literally nothing to lose by saying now, off the record, that they saw him look off his game in 2024. But if they had said that in 2024 it would have significantly damaged his re-election hopes, and their career prospects.
@joel_krahn@jpodhoretz This is not what polling shows. It's not what people were saying. They did say he was "too old" but that was more of a concern about his faculties into 2028.
@joel_krahn@jpodhoretz No the people concerned are White House staffers and their careers might be dinged if they went public which is why they have not done so.
@g_winemaker@mattyglesias They aren't "in the Democratic party". DSA members do run in it because anyone is allowed to seek the Democratic nomination. They aren't Marxists.
@joel_krahn@jpodhoretz Does it not make sense that he was able to seem fine for so much of his presidency specifically because he was fine for so much of his presidency? In 2023 he had 10 press conferences, participated in 54 media interviews and gave 462 public remarks and addresses.
