@BearJFK Because the Rafale isn't capable A2A other than in PR demo exercises (e.g. dogfighting), got spanked in India by 4th gen Chinese Jets, and F-35 is probably 20 times more survivable, conservatively. F-35 could not have been built by the UK alone, even GCAP a stretch with ITA & JP.
