Pheasant hunting involves shooting birds out of the sky. After the birds fall into the bushes, your retriever dog rushes to find the downed bird, brings it back to you, and receives a small treat in return.

I have often wondered why the dogs don't simply eat the birds instead of retrieving them for a small reward.

It's a matter of conditioning.

The dogs have been trained to give up something bigger—a fresh bird—for something smaller, a treat.

In 234, students celebrate receiving alerts about loans for their university education from elected leaders who sit on vast oil wealth. These students have been conditioned to exchange something significant for something small.

Similarly, those who accept bags of rice in place of a functional Social Security system have been conditioned to accept a small treat in return for something much larger.

Ultimately, there are those who sell their votes. Your vote is incredibly valuable, and wealthy politicians plead with you to sell it to them, which you do. You have been conditioned to take a small reward in exchange for something much more significant.

The issue we face is generational.

I witnessed Nigeria's potential in my youth, and I see the nation today; I know what is possible.

During my five years at university, my total tuition was less than N600, and my accommodation was also less than N600, all directly subsidized by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN).

At that time, while the FGN subsidized my education, there was no VAT or revenue from telecommunications, banking, remittances, or NLNG, yet they were able to fund it. My point is this: revenues have increased, but public services have deteriorated.

Back then, the President drove a locally assembled Peugeot 504, supplied from Kaduna, just like the ministers; there were no SUVs or presidential air fleets.

Many young people today have never seen Nigeria with:

1. Water flowing from public taps 24/7
2. A consistent power supply
3. Free education

The youth have been conditioned to expect little from public services, so when they do experience even a small improvement, they are genuinely amazed and appreciative. But even that is just 1%; where is the remaining 99%?

I appreciate their comments; they cannot envision functionality in today’s challenging environment. It is those from my generation who have exploited that ignorance to sell misleading narratives to the youth of today.

The most useful political statement I have ever read was this simple quote from Chairman Mao: "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun".

Everything else is just a series of fantasies and illusions that people sell themselves so they can sleep well at night. Whatever style of government you pretend to have, it is always underwritten by men with guns, and its stability always ultimately comes down to what the men with guns choose to do.

Your "democracy" is a children's fairy tale you tell yourself to make the world more palatable - it is men with guns that enforce and implement decisions, and it is men with guns that will escort you into a police car, a courtroom or a prison if you choose not to obey whatever instruction you have received.

Your "theocracy" is a lie because God has no power to make you do anything without the men with guns making you carry out his will. Mecca and Jerusalem are the 2 allegedly holiest in the world, and they're both filled with men with guns, purportedly carrying out the will of God.

Every type of human society is held together by men with guns. A good society is one where the interests of the men with guns align with those of the people without guns, and a bad society is one where the men with guns live parasitically off the people without guns.

ALL societies are dictatorships of men who control the guns. Some just include a whole lot of extra steps to obfuscate that basic fact. I personally prefer the societies where the men with the guns do not hide their control and their interests align with those who do not have guns.

Growing up is realising that "democracy" is like Santa Claus. It's a story told for 5 year-olds to feel involved in the world's decision making. You didn't put Tinubu, Trump or Macron in power with your "vote" you fucking peasant.

Colonised people are among the biggest dangers to themselves and the countries they inhabit, and any leader wishing to improve his country's material conditions despite the presence of millions of colonised people who are out of their natural minds, must be prepared to go the Stalin, Mao and Lee Kuan Yew way. Re-education camps, public flogging and forced labour so offenders can repay their debt to society.
