Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons has posted the results from yesterday’s General Election, and while there’s still tabulation taking place for statewide races, here are some takeaways.

Polling stations at Florida Avenue Residence Halls and Illini Hillel are closed for the day, with everyone in line reaching the ballot box. ISR is soon to follow.
The University YMCA will be done with voting in approximately 30 minutes.

The line to vote at Illinois Street Residence is short. The polls have been open since 6 a.m. here, and the line hasn’t gotten above a count of 40 people at once.
As election day begins, students and community members are lining up all around campus ready to cast their votes. At the Illini Union, the line is wrapped around the building, filled with people sitting and waiting.

The Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed a Motion for Injunctive Relief in Champaign County Court requesting that the voting hours in Champaign County at all polling places be extended to 9:00 p.m. to compensate for the hours that voters could not vote this morning due to connectivity issues with the County’s election services vendor. The hearing will be at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom F in front of Judge Ben Dyer and is a public hearing.
