Today is also the Guru Pooja of Cheraman Perumal Nayanar, one of the early kings of the Perumal dynasty of Chera Nadu, who, according to the tradition, attained Kailasa along with Sundarar.

There is a fake story going round that Cheraman got converted to “another” religion and went westwards. The roots of the story lies in Keralorpathi. Unfortunately the book has many such mythical stories without any substance.

The Thanjavur Periya Kovil mural, which depicts Cheraman Perumal’s Yatra to Kailaya, was within two centuries of the incident. There are many Chola period sculptures which depicts the same. Periya Puranam, which documented Cheraman Perumal’s life history, didn’t talk about Cheraman going through a sea route.

Cheraman Perumal remained as Shiva Bhaktha and reached the abode of Shiva after his life in earth. Any other ‘story’ is just worth discarding.

The Government has made its position crystal clear.

His actions perfectly reflect the @INCIndia Congress’s bankrupt and opportunistic mindset.

Despite the government’s prompt and responsible actions — ordering re-examination and arresting those involved in the leaks — the cockroach Janata Party has deliberately chosen the path of violence and deceit. Their activists have attacked journalists and policemen, damaged public property, and spread malicious rumours on social media to fan unrest and mislead the public. This is not accidental; it is a calculated conspiracy to manufacture crisis, obstruct governance, and push their dirty agenda of disruption and destabilisation.

While the cockroach Janata Party and its allies engage in this filth, the BJP government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Narendra Modi has delivered real, transformative reforms to empower students across the country: massive expansion of digital education through DIKSHA and SWAYAM platforms, record increase in higher education institutions and seats, major scholarships and financial assistance for meritorious and underprivileged students, modernisation of curricula with focus on skill development and employability, promotion of NEP 2020 for holistic and multidisciplinary education, and continuous efforts to make examinations more transparent and technology-driven. These are concrete steps that actually empower youth, unlike the empty noise from the opposition.

What makes the cockroach Janata Party @CJP_for_India particularly dangerous and despicable is their complete lack of genuine concern for the future of students. They have no solutions, no vision, and no interest in education reforms. Their only intent is to conspire, conspire, and conspire — conspiring with Congress (led by Rahul Gandhi’s dirty politics) and @cpimspeak communists to create anarchy in Delhi and in front of Parliament, conspiring to attack law enforcement, conspiring to vandalise public assets, and conspiring to spread lies that harm national harmony. Today is the Guru Pooja of Sundaramurthy Nayanar. While his life is filled with numerous remarkable episodes, one of the most significant offers us a fascinating glimpse into the judicial process of his time.

When Sundarar was about to marry the daughter of Sadangavi Sivachariyar, an elderly man suddenly appeared and claimed that Sundarar was his hereditary servant, citing a document executed by Sundarar’s grandfather. Sundarar angrily challenged the claim, seized the palm leaf document produced by the old man and tore it up. Undeterred, the elderly man approached the village court and formally presented his case.

As Sekkizhar records in the Periya Puranam, disputes were adjudicated on the basis of three forms of evidence: Aatchi, Aavanam or Ayalar Kaatchi (established legal practice, documentary evidence or the testimony of witnesses). The old man informed the assembly that the document destroyed by Sundarar was merely a copy and that he possessed the original palm leaf deed.

The judges examined the original document, compared the handwriting with other records associated with Sundarar’s grandfather and verified its authenticity. They consequently ruled that Sundarar was indeed bound to serve the elderly claimant. The old man, however, was none other than Lord Shiva himself, who had come to claim Sundarar as His devotee and servant. What followed became one of the most celebrated chapters in the history of the Nayanmars.
