This #WorldAIDSDay, let’s stand together to support marginalized communities and break down barriers of access for all Canadians.
Yesterday we set the Guinness World Records title for the World's Largest Awareness Ribbon Mosaic made of awareness ribbons! This beautiful mosaic is on display at Snider Plaza until #WorldAIDSDay for everyone to stop, reflect and remember that HIV is still here. @UNAIDS
On October 24, 2024, I launched a Senate inquiry into the alarming rise of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs), including HIV/AIDS.
The rates of these infections continue to climb across the country, endangering the lives and health of many Canadians. In my remarks, I highlighted critical issues in prevention, testing, and treatment, as well as the lack of equity in access to medications, particularly for rural and remote communities.
It is imperative to rethink our approaches, particularly through accessible and age-appropriate sexual education programs in all schools across the country. In the face of these public health challenges, let us commit to a future without STBBIs and HIV/AIDS.
Are you part of the 2S/GBTQ community in British Columbia? Have you heard about Doxy PrEP/PEP as prevention options for chlamydia and syphilis? We want to hear from you!

U=U has become my superpower.
Knowing I live with HIV but can’t transmit the virus allows me to live freely, without fear or shame. And, when U=U is shared widely, HIV stops being our kryptonite🦸🏻♂️
