I won't buy into all that "AI coding superiority" or "just manage a swarm of agents and knock out a week's work in 45 minutes" crap until all the Electron-based shit disappears from desktops and phones.
If you're really that productive and fast, it shouldn't be hard for you to build native apps that are small and quick, right?
Make Apps Small Again✊
(Against the backdrop of rising PC component prices, it's especially relevant)
I want to voice why I have a problem with Lucia as a playable protagonist in GTA.
Mainly because, I've seen some mutuals suggesting that disliking this means you "hate women" or that it's some sort of sexist belief.
Let's make something very clear: female protagonists in video games... are completely fine. But it is preferrable for it to make sense. For example: Lara Croft is a master of gymnastics, and she leverages her agility/flexibility in her fighting style. Not to mention, she mostly relies on guns.
Bayonetta aka Cereza is a fantasy character. It works perfectly fine, because she acts as more of a fantasy heroine. The same applies to characters like Tifa, Agrias, etc: they exist in a fantasy middle ground, where they can believably work as strong melee fighters. 2B is an android... the list goes on.
Video game developers have historically always made sure that their physical fighters who are women, actually fit logically/in the context of their game's world or story. GTA6 is a different story entirely, because GTA is and always has been heavily grounded in reality.
Obviously a lot of the feats you accomplish in the game would never happen in the real world, but that doesn't matter. We're discussing immersion, not technicalities. You can think of immersion like a rubber-band: our brains are willing to "stretch" what is believable, but if you stretch it too far, the rubber-band breaks.
Luca is a 135lb Latina who can literally beat the shit out of 3+ dudes with her fists. For anyone with a normal brain who understands GTA, this is going to absolutely shatter their faculties. It's taking GTA and stretching it into more of a fantasy, than a grounded crime game/story. Maybe you personally don't have your faculties broken by a small Latina woman being able to fist fight three dudes in GTA who would absolutely fucking destroy her, but I do.
This doesn't mean I hate women. It has nothing to do with my feelings for women, in fact, and everything to do with how I perceive/process fiction and fantasy. I've never viewed GTA as a fantasy, so seeing a character like Lucia being able to rely on brute strength and fighting ability to overpower 3 men at once is jarring and cringe.
And this is intentional, by the way: western video game developers have made it their open and outspoken mission to erase the lines between fictional men and women. They want to push the narrative that "everything men can do, women can do just as well!" It's the product of a modern, ideological agenda whether the GTA6 diehards want to admit it or not.
If this was the Rockstar of old, Lucia would have a completely different fighting style. She wouldn't be boxing with 3 dudes and winning. But because the western games industry is ""progressive"" now, this would be considered sExiST and misoGynisTIC. That's what makes it fucking retarded and annoying: your excuses and "buT u cAn flY ouT of a cAR anD surviVE" talking points are irrelevant.
Let me do one serious post chat, and I'll resume shitposting. This is important to make explicitly clear.
Two weeks ago, fellow Dane, David Heinemeier Hansson (@dhh) went on a public tirade about Nix and the Linux ecosystem.
"Goddamn maniacs." "Clowns." "Goblins." "Cancer."
In the same conversation, he called Nix “amazing technology.”
Two days ago, it became clear that he is planning to build his "distribution" on NixOS.
That is worth dwelling on.
NixOS can be criticized. Of course it can. We criticize ourselves constantly.
What I find deeply gross is arriving as a tourist to an ecosystem, using an enormous platform to ridicule the people who built it, then deciding their work is good enough to become the foundation of your own project.
Much of his indictment is not even about NixOS. Land acknowledgements? That is not some defining debate here. It is Twitter culture-war material imported into a caricature of a community he barely knows.
For someone so insistent that technology should be "apolitical", David spends a lot of time talking about politics, culture, codes of conduct, and community governance.
He rails against codes of conduct, then writes rules for how people in his own community should behave while insisting that somehow does not count.
Call it whatever you want. Communities require governance.
And governance, packaging, security, infrastructure, release engineering, review and maintenance are not distractions from building a distribution.
They are the work.
So far, what he has is a configuration and installer layer on top of years of work by Arch, Linux, Rust, and soon NixOS and Nixpkgs contributors.
Using Claude to produce that glue does not make the work underneath disappear.
Packages, infrastructure, security and technical knowledge exist because people did the difficult, boring work required to make this ecosystem function.
You are not replacing those people. You are depending on them.
Which makes the rhetoric about creating a home for the "competent" people obnoxious.
David, the competent people are already here.
They are the people your project depends on — including people and communities you have been calling clowns.
You do not get to praise the "amazing technology", dismiss the people who sustain it as politically deranged, put a layer on top, and cast yourself as the serious technical adult in the room.
That is not escaping dysfunction. It is standing on other people's work while sneering downward.
People mock NixOS. They declare it insane. They explain why nobody should want it.
And then they use it anyway. So who's competent here?
You can hate us. You can mock us. You can call us clowns.
But when the answer to your own technical problems is to build on our work, that tells its own story.
So, David: welcome to NixOS.
But understand what you are standing on.
If you intend to build on years of work from this community, the attitude adjustment is overdue: less culture-war posturing, more respect and humility toward the people doing the work you now depend on.
I’ve relapsed with my depression
I used to be heavily medicated for it, and I decided to quit and hopefully turn my life around. I did for a while but it really does silently come back sometimes. I've been bedrotting again, showering is hard again, I started isolating myself again. so, i'm really sorry for not showing up. I really do want to.
Living with a genetic disorder that has no solution, chronic fatigue, can't heal my vocal cords, aura migraines that literally make me temporarily blind. just everything about being chronically ill is extremely exhausting. I feel like im just a constant disappointment. I wish I could do the things i promise to do without having excuses.
I wish I could make you guys proud by always doing the best I can. I just need to pick myself up first. I will always try to be the best version of myself I can be. I’ve been trying to turn my IRL life around recently. I’ve lost like 20 lbs so far, started taking supplements, putting myself first in my decisions, etc. I promise I’m trying my best, and I’ll continue to do so.
I just wanted to share cause I think mental health is extremely important and being honest is always a nice step to take. So trust in me, I'm taking the steps! ^^ Much love 🧡
There are too many people in the replies going "he couldn't have cared that much if he hasn't played it in ten years." It doesn't matter if it's ten years or ten days, you should be able to access the games you paid for, you bootlickers.
Sometimes when I hear a person talking about what they want out of a relationship, it's like I'm listening to my three year old talk about how she wants candy for breakfast. She really, really wants candy for breakfast. She thinks her life would be better if she had candy for breakfast. Life is so unfair that you can't just eat candy for every meal, in fact, and if only Mommy would stop being mean and understand that she WANTS CANDY, then she'd finally be seen and satisfied and truly content.
Christopher Nolan says that “AI is a Trojan horse that everybody knows the Greeks are inside.”
“It’s a transparent horse, it’s made of glass. Everybody can see what’s going on inside of there… I’ve never seen a technology advancing so rapidly, so completely rejected by the public.
Everybody’s suspicion of it is so extreme, particularly young people.”

Animals should not be used for radical transgender experiments.
This is not science. This is ideological cruelty paid for by the American taxpayers.
Our TRANS MICE Act ends it. No federal funds may be used to conduct, support, or fund research aimed at altering an animal's biological sex.
No hormones. No surgeries. No taxpayer dollars spent mutilating animals in the name of transgender ideology.
This legislation brings accountability, ends taxpayer-funded cruelty, and ensures science serves the public, not ideology.
@pvthill63b@OGsDontFold that results in much more usage and less acceptance in the fact that they are addictive to it. You don't have to be a freak crackhead to be addicted to something.
@pvthill63b@OGsDontFold Incorrect, while nicotine is more addictive, use of caffeine is much higher in both the present and historical contexts. As well as having less side effects allowing it to be more socially acceptable and thus less likely to not become dependent upon. https://t.co/g9CvlesNJA
See, this right here is why I don’t generally dunk on stupid people. Now I have to debate you.
Below is Grok’s analysis. Tl;dr, it works.
Beyond that, you realize the ISS has 100 kW radiators, right? This isn’t weird technology, it’s been used in space for decades. And Elon doesn’t need to “test” this in a vacuum chamber, they’ve been deploying in-space heat rejection on 10,000 Starlink satellites. So they really know how to reject heat in space.
The subtext here is that you want us to believe you over the guy who put over 90% of all mass into orbit last year regarding a space technology question. I’ve seen big delusional egos before, but you might have set a record here.
