Folks, meet Boxer. Boxer (BOXR) is a three year old male Veery that recently returned to Delaware from the Amazon Basin carrying a GPS logger :) #Ornithology
@RWJBoon Boomer here. We used concrete blocks with boards across them. We used the milk cartons for our record albums. Or baskets for our bikes. Those were precious. I was lucky to score some wooden artillery boxes from the Vietnam war for book cases.
To make your day a tiny bit better🙂, I will report that today (4/13) is the average date #Delaware male Veeries that successfully raised a brood in May or June exit South America. This date is significantly earlier than those that failed to produce young. #Ornithology#Songbirds
A pic of the #DelState Natural Resources #Ornithology class visit to the @delmnh bird egg & skin collections. Shout out to @MatthewHalley for an awesome and highly entertaining tour!

I'm Adam Frisch. In 2022, I lost to Lauren Boebert by just 546 votes. It was the closest race in the entire country.
Now, I'm running again, and this time, we WILL defeat her. But we need your help.
Please, will you chip in to my campaign and help me defeat Lauren Boebert?
Flashback: One of the 1st #songbirds ever tracked with a geolocator through South American rainforest: Veery OAWX (2009). The geo was sewn on the bird while in the hand (yes, needle and thread!). It was sealed using liquid rubber which can clearly be seen here. #Ornithology
Folks: I've described 5 new #firefly species in the eastern US. I'm seeing ref to these as "splits". These are NOT splits! You have to start with something b4 it can be split. They are 100% new field "discoveries" - unable to be grouped with anything known🙃#Lampyridae#Fireflies
