The truth can no longer be concealed. The BJP government, led by the Meitei has experienced significant failure. Even members of Congress from the Meitei community are now coming to defend Biren's mess. This unity among the Meiteis is not rooted in political alignment or some optimal elements but rather in hatred to the Zo ethnic community, the Kuki, the Zomi & Hmar.

It is deleted, but I agree with @PChidambaram_IN in saying regional autonomy for the three communities of Manipur is the only way forward to live in peace. Unless done, Manipur will never see peace. Chidambram, who was the Home Minister from 2008-12 during the tense Naga-GoM confrontations, didn't do anything to resolve the political turmoil in the State despite knowing the solution to it fully well. It's more like saying it for the sake of it. Don't sensationalise his statement.

In an interview in 2023, Konsam Monica, leader of a Meitei women’s group, was asked about 2 Vaiphei women who had suffered sexual violence from Meitei men. Her response, “As a woman, I feel pity for them, but it is a war. So... that’s all" (emphasis mine) is deeply disturbing. Her response is a demonstration of a disturbed state of mind of the Meitei who comfortably rationalizes or minimizes tribal suffering in order to fit their narrative.

𝑨 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂'𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕:
recognizing suffering while justifying it as an inevitable consequence of conflict. It is astounding how the Meitei community seems to accept violence against women belonging to the other community as an inevitable consequence of the conflict.

Ironically, the response of the Meitei community when tragedy strikes them is entirely different. Grief is magnified at the state and the national level, and calls for justice are quick. It is this stark contrast between empathy and hypocrisy that explains their hypocrisy: an unwillingness to extend the same empathy they entitled to themselves. Due to lack of self-reflection, the Meitei community fails to examine its own role in perpetuating violence. Monica's statement serves as a reminder that selective empathy only fuels divisions and highlights the urgent need for honest reckoning with their actions.

I do not in any way condone violence against women, but how the meiteis respond to violence against women based on ethnicity is truly astonishing!

3 मई 2023 को, जब शाम को हिंसा भड़क उठी, तो श्रीमती गौजावुंग (57 वर्ष), जो मणिपुर सरकार (कृषि और पशु चिकित्सा विभाग) में अवर सचिव के रूप में कार्यरत थीं, अपने बेटे, श्री गौलसांग (27 वर्ष), अपनी बहू (नैन्सी) और अपनी बेटी (किम) के साथ, इम्फाल के लैंगोल में एक रिश्तेदार के घर में शरण ली। अगली सुबह, 4 मई, 2023 को, उन्होंने अपने दस्तावेज़ लेने के लिए अपने स्वयं के सरकारी आवंटित क्वार्टर में लौटने का फैसला किया और वहाँ से आश्रय के लिए पास के CRPF शिविर (मुश्किल से 2 किमी दूर) में चले गए। CRPF शिविर के रास्ते में, उन्हें लोहे की छड़, लकड़ी के तख्तों, लाठी, पत्थरों और ईंटों से लैस 250 से अधिक पुरुषों और महिलाओं की विशाल मेइती भीड़ ने घेर लिया और सड़क पर उन पर हमला किया भीड़ ने श्री गौलासांग को घसीटा और उन पर हमला कर दिया, जिससे उनका खून बहने लगा। यह देखकर उनकी मां श्रीमती गौजावुंग अपने बेटे को बचाने के लिए खून की प्यासी भीड़ के बीच आ गईं, तथा उनका बेटा खून से लथपथ और असहाय होकर जमीन पर पड़ा था। मां और बेटे दोनों की मौके पर ही पीट-पीटकर हत्या कर दी गई।

उनका परिवार डेढ़ साल बाद भी न्याय की प्रतीक्षा कर रहा है! परिवार को भावनात्मक समाधान कब मिलेगा? दोषियों को कब जवाबदेह ठहराया जाएगा?
