In order to warm up for the #PCD2019 in #Rome I'm gonna start posting my #daily#processing sketches made while commuting! 🛤🚈
I hereby invite every attendee to do the same 📜
Share your dailies and tag them with #PCD2019!
(PS: thx to @sasj_nl for being the inspiration!)
@mattdesl Any LISP! No other language will change how you think about programming as learning to write in a language in the LISP family. I love Rust and I’ve used #nannou a lot, but imho the creative feedback loop is too long for daily sketches (but I’d use for long running installations).
@mattdesl I don’t know how to improve the privacy issue, it’s the same problem issue everywhere (do you trust Twitter instead?), but for real privacy just GPG encode your stuff.. as for self-hosting: did you consider it? why not going that way, if you don’t trust the other instances?
Ok folks, I have it. I have the answer.
For those of us who don't like the term "The AI" or "An AI", I propose:
Automated Software System (ASS)
e.g. "My ASS created this art"
If you find that gives ASSes to much autonomy (fair criticism)
"I used my ASS to create this art"

Over-reliance on English hinders cognitive science: it has led to premature claims of universality (due to over-sampling of English speakers) and limited the cognitive constructs being examined (due to the use of English as a meta-language). https://t.co/XH56AS0B8K
There's a lot of weird debate about whether Rust in the kernel is useful or not... in my experience, it's way more useful than I could've ever imagined!
I went from 1st render to a stable desktop that can run run games, browsers, etc. in about two days of work on my driver (!!!)
@typename_nish@alshalloway@allenholub I have just finished reading it and I would really recommend it! It was written in 1999, so it’s nice to see how things have evolved from there, a time where there wasn’t even Github. Plus, the author has got a really deep understanding of the hacker culture and its values 👌
@typename_nish@alshalloway@allenholub There’s a book dedicated to how/why OS is capable of producing (generally) higher quality software than its closed source counterpart: the Cathedral & the Bazar. It’s a collection of essays and it examines also the anthropological side of things too
Definitely worth a listen, it is an amazing and special project like we don’t see many in the crowded word of electronic and contemporary music production. So happy that I could contribute to one of its many parts! Grab a vinyl everyone! ❤️🌑🥏🟢
Can’t believe it’s out… BIOME has landed... It’s been a gigantic effort & my biggest ever creative project. I’m immensely proud of it & really hope you enjoy it.

@robhawkes Love it! As somebody who has recently revamped his blog (https://t.co/olOO7u5uYe) I can 100% understand that magic feeling of starting from a fresh cleaned up virtual home. Can I ask the tech stack that you’ve used?
