#BREAKING Randolph hockey head coach Rich McLaughlin has retired.
His career started at Livingston in 1991. He took over the Rams in 1993, has been there since and is the third-winningest coach in New Jersey history.
"The fans need to be passionate. (It) has to feel like you are taking on a city instead of a team."
"We need them. It was pretty loud in Raleigh, and we need that on our side."
Tonight, the #NJDevils are counting on their fans:

@matt_NJD@DevilsState In hindsight, yes now it looks awful and does add some heat to his seat, but I’m not sure I disagreed with the decision making at the time.
@matt_NJD@DevilsState Can’t make decisions in hindsight. With the information available to the front office at the time, it was a “reasonable” assumption to go into the season with Vanecek/Schmid and the roster, without sacrificing picks and prospects for 30+ year old Helleybuck, etc.
I’m not a subscriber of the “everything is Lindy Ruff’s fault” camp, but at some point you do have to gas the coach right? You have to do something, and you can’t just fire the goaltenders or the players.
I’m not real sure how this is the fucking effort you come out with at home, desperate for wins, against your biggest rival. Lots of soul searching to do on the golf course this year.
@DawgsonMercer You’re not wrong but I think it’s fine in a matchup like tonight against Calgary where you can effectively deploy any of the other 3 lines against the Flames top 6, particularly with last change on home ice.
