Dr. Herbert Luswata on the delayed deployment of medical interns: We want to lessen the burden on our colleagues (medical practitioners) who are in hospitals already providing services to the public.

@GovUganda@Parliament_Ug@mofpedU@MinofHealthUG.
In principle, why?
1. Keep a 2000 strong health workforce redundant viz a viz appalling health indicators.
NB; A progressive, productive society thrives on a robust, effective health system.

UPDATE: Junior Doctors protesting non-deployment march to Parliament for a meeting with Speaker Anita Among. Only 7 were granted access to the premises. #NTVNews

@MathiasMpuuga This is an issue of national importance and a matter of urgency!
Issues of health can not wait.
Let Parliament, as it resumes, ensure health is prioritized and medical interns are immediately deployed!
#DeployMedicalInterns
Medical interns in Uganda don't even have an official communication from ministry of health.
Medical interns need help from all Ugandans.
Did we commit a crime to be in Uganda.
#DeployMedicalInterns
"STATEHOUSE VETS FOR M7'S COWS ARE ALLOCATED 180 Billion shillings annually. MEDICAL INTERNS require JUST 80Billion to be deployed to serve 40 million Ugandans".Yet @DianaAtwine has told interns there's no money.
The LUNATICS have taken over the asylum 🤯🤮https://t.co/hb7t0DVu8p
@rkabushenga Thanks Robert and thanks to Dr Catherine. We did MBCHB together in Makerere Medical School, same year. I agree with her on the need for African govts to priotise health. In Ug, we have enhanced the pay of Health workers & other scientists. For interns, the issue is being sorted.
Indeed! First of all A QUICK RECOVERY to APAP HE Gen. YKM @KagutaMuseveni
Two, I agree with you 100%. The proposed policy by MoH is a desperate measure called for in depserate times!
Let's Congratulate these awesome Doctors who have completed their 5 years of medical school.
I don't know if Ministry of healthy is aware but we have cohort 2022 and now cohort 2023 of pre-medical interns who are waiting deployment.
Imagine 5yrs and 1 year of doing nothing!!!
While I understand the pain every pre-intern is going through and that those whose parents can afford w'd wish to pay for them to be trained, I wouldn't wish rich people to continue insulating themselves from the trouble some have participated in causing to this country
