Shoutout to the residents/fellows/attendings that are swamped with work but still take the time out to teach med students during rotations. We appreciate you and aspire to be like you 🥺
As a final year resident my program director sat us down & threatened to put “not a team player” our files if we didn’t agree to be on call every third night for a year *without* compensation.
On an off-service rotation but so incredibly happy to have such tolerant and accepting chiefs! Hopefully won’t need any accommodations but the sentiment is truly heartwarming and I’m incredibly blessed to be here @CUOTO@uchealth ☺️ #MedTwitter
The resident and fellow physicians at @PennMedicine are unionizing!!
UPenn housestaff would the first residents in Pennsylvania to unionize. We are determined to not only improve patient care at UPenn, but to set standards for what residency and equity in healthcare should be.
My neighbor is an architect who designs hospitals and she casually reflected that her latest client’s instructions were to make the C-suite admin offices “palatial” 🏛 while restricting Physician offices to be “as space efficient as possible…”
Learning brainstem #neuroanatomy would be nearly impossible without the rule of 4s. I'm going to pass this along for anyone trying to learn #neurology, as this might be the single most powerful mnemonic I know of.
I present to you, The Rule of 4s: a #MedEd#tweetorial

A Nigerian medical student at Poland/Ukraine border (Medyka-Shehyni) told me she has been waiting 7hrs to cross, she says border guards are stopping black people and sending them to the back of the queue, saying they have to let 'Ukrainians' through first.
In 2021, the average first-year resident earned a salary of $57,500.
Adjusted for inflation, that’s $49,824 in 2012 dollars - which means that, in real dollars, resident salaries have increased only $5000 over the past 40 years.

When I was a PGY-1, neuro-oncologist Dr. Darin Carabenciov taught me a quick yet systematic approach to MR imaging of brain lesions. I am on call this weekend and am still utilizing his teachings to this day! A thread: (1/7)
