A litre of fuel in Libya costs ₦32, while the minimum wage in the country is $208, which is roughly ₦276,000. In Saudi Arabia, a litre of fuel costs approximately ₦823, while the estimated monthly minimum wage is ₦1.4 million. Norway, another oil-producing country, provides its citizens with numerous benefits funded by the proceeds from its oil revenues. In Nigeria, however, the minimum wage is ₦70,000, while a litre of fuel costs between ₦1,300 and ₦1,900 in some places. That minimum wage amounts to a mere $52, a young chap flipping burgers at McDonald's in the US makes more than a Nigerian bank manager. Anyone earning ₦100,000 a month in Nigeria is still struggling to make ends meet and may be closer to the poverty line than their counterparts in these countries. But does the President care? How does he even sleep at night, knowing that millions of Nigerians are struggling to survive in a country blessed with abundant natural resources?
ARISE NEWS RESPONSE TO INEC LAGOS STATEMENT
Arise News has received a press statement from INEC Lagos State categorically denying our report aired this morning on What's Trending and stating that the display of the Register of Voters was conducted across all two hundred and forty-five registration areas in Lagos State including Alimosho and Shomolu. We take note of INEC's response and we respect the commission's right to provide its own account.
However, Arise News stands by its report. Our findings were based on independent on-ground verification not social media posts or unverified claims.
At the time of our confirmation on Tuesday, the INEC portal displayed a message stating there are currently no preliminary registers to display.
In the Alimosho area, our investigation revealed the register was strictly available on request between 9AM and 3PM and residents were only allowed to check for their own names which falls short of the open public display required under Section 19 of the Electoral Act.
Arise News acknowledges that INEC may have since rectified the situation and we welcome that. But the issues we reported were real and the public deserves to know.
We remain committed to responsible accurate and independent journalism and we call on INEC to ensure that every Nigerian in every ward has full and open access to the voters' register as required by law not access by request, access by right!
Yes, hold your governor to account but don’t forget that the Federal Government still consumes 52% of our resources. 36 state governors only share 28% and 774 LGAs only share 20%. Even if states were to control all LGA funds, that would still be 48% divided among 36 governors while the Federal Government alone consumes 52%.
That’s why the Federal Government can afford to triple the number of agencies it has since the Oronsaye Report from 541 in 2012 to more than 1600 in 2016. That is why the Federal Government can even afford to have fake agencies.
If you sell used cars, be careful - the next few years will be rough for you, and you may not have a business by the time the wave that is coming is done:
The reason is because the Chinese have set their eyes on Africa, and when they move - it is usually aggresive price cut that favors volume over margins.
Which means they will sell better and more recent cars at a cheaper price and at first you will laugh at them; but they will win.
It is how people laughed at Opay at first (a bank with no branch) but now Opay is used by almost everyone.
...but car is not like the banking sector, a cheaper car & better car will FORCE everyone else out.
Wait till they are done countering all the lies about parts and engine not being strong; once they enter a market - they find the biggest objections and they get to work towards countering it. That work has started. Goodluck everyone.
Dear @SenRemiTinubu, I have started roasted agbado business as instructed by you. I used my certificates to lit up the fire.
Do well to ensure bandits do not attack me on my way to farm, do well to ensure price of transportation doesn’t run me out of business. Lastly, while you and governor’s wives cruise in the exotic cars you shared, please stop by and buy my corn.

Because you don't know what to do with the excess money, you now decide to travel out.
Your mumu self has forgotten that you're an international criminal.
So as you're landing in Toronto Canada, the police are already waiting for you.
They handcuff you and take you to maximum prison immediately.
They already informed Nigerian police that they will arrest you.
Those ones did not even bother to call your family
Now your family don't know what has happened to you.
They think you're not picking call meanwhile you've been sentenced to 80 years in prison.
