@R_A_Hartmann@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch Part of a well organised exchange programme. All accompanied until she went through security when flight cancelled. Parents waiting other end. One of those things that couldn’t have been foreseen
Hey @British_Airways you cancelled a flight from LHR today leaving a female child who’s a minor travelling on her own with no support. There are no hotels available and you’re telling her it’s not your responsibility to feed her or give her accommodation.. really??@KemiBadenoch
@ptavfc1@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch As explained elsewhere, minors can travel on their own. She was part of a well organised exchange program in the UK. All was fine until she went through security and BA cancelled the flight at this point. No-one for her to contact. Parents in France waiting for her other end
@sarah_ironside@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch She was on an exchange visit in the UK for two weeks. The people running the program dropped her off and she went safely through security. The flight was cancelled after this point.
@Belingehou@dachshund007@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch Escorted there in the end by a BA hostess. Apparently there’s two young children so safe at the hotel - told not to leave and will be picked up by a BA person tomorrow am - so in the end a good outcome- it just took 7hrs to sort 🙄
@c_mcdonald3@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch Part of a foreign exchange program. Dropped off by the car that was sorted for her but nowhere to go back to. It is now sorted after several hours of contacting different people at the airport- thanks
@dachshund007@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch Thanks Jane. BA have responded. She’s in a hotel and they have put her on a flight tomorrow am. Took about 5hrs or more to sort, but all ok now. Thanks for your compassion. Apparently she’s a snowflake for asking for help. First time in the UK.
@MuscatBoro@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch Thanks. No snowflake here. Just asking for help which the airline has a responsibility to give. And no blame. BA have responded and they are helping her. Thanks for your kind words.
@K8teyk8te@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch See above answers. She was dropped off securely having finished a two week exchange programme in the UK. BA cancelled the flight after security hence why she was on her own. If we can’t ask the airline for help what was she expected to do when they said ‘not our problem’
@K8teyk8te@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch She was. They cancelled after she went through security. On an exchange visit from France. First time abroad alone-English not great. Good to see everyone’s humane response to this situation.
@uklee1967@British_Airways@KemiBadenoch See answer elsewhere: not woke. French child on an exchange visit. Dropped off, went through security then BA cancelled. Her English isn’t great and she’s scared. First time abroad alone. Have some compassion
@PaulJohnson65 She’s on an exchange visit from France to UK. Was dropped off, went through security and then @British_Airways cancelled the flight. Her sex isn’t the issue. Why are you are being aggressive?Am highlighting this for a friend’s daughter who’s English is not great and she’s scared
