Many Teslabros commenting on this saying buttons are unsafe etc. Get a grip, please. As someone who has worked for a few years in automotive ergonomics, here’s the science of why physical buttons are better:

The human body remembers where things are and relates them to touch. When you walk into a dark room in your house, you don’t look for the light switch do you? You know where it is and reach for it, then confirm the place with the touch of your fingers, your brain registering the shape of the switch. That’s ’muscle memory’. You absolutely, 100% cannot do that with a touchscreen. You might be able to get to the general location but then you need to look, taking your eyes off the road. Especially for that second press as there’s no way they’re just one menu deep.

So to summarise, touchscreens are not safer. What they are, is much much cheaper, which is why manufacturers like them. The people who buy the cars though, on the whole, do not.

Continuing with censorship talk, this might just be a minor inconvenience, but I have had CamModelProtect send over 15 fraudulent DMCAs in the name of @saruei, targeting fan work on Rule34 and many other sites. When I went to Saruei's Discord to see if we could put a stop to this, I was told by a mod that these DMCAs are legitimate. I then proceeded to contact 10 artists who made fan work, and NONE said they were paid or commissioned by Saruei.

Filing fraudulent DMCAs for fan art people made for you is not only incredibly disrespectful but also flat-out illegal. The copyright of fan art stays with the artists unless you paid for it. In Saruei's defense, there were a couple of images made by Saruei themself, and we deleted them instantly when the complaint came in. But the notices for the fan art just don't stop.

I fucking love VTubers, so I promoted a whole bunch of them on my front page and even printed them for my wall. I have never seen a VTuber be so hostile against their own fan work/artists. This has been going on for a year now, please stop this.

Cloudflare is now on the record as having implemented policy that permanently outsources all final decisions on the legality or acceptability of U.S. hosted, First Amendment protected content to FSM-Hotline Germany. A foreign entity that applies German law onto content that is legal in the USA.

Cloudflare: "We will only consider lifting the restrictions on this domain after we have received notice from FSM directly that the content on this domain has been deemed a false positive for CSAM."

This is the same country that seizes all your electronics permanently for criticizing politicians and hurting their feelings, making a lewd joke, posting a meme, or even playing a violent video game... and then laugh at you about it.
