I am extremely grateful to our team in the @KohliLab and beyond (@idtdna, @MacNasrallah, @walraj, and especially @hao_wu_7). We saw many challenges, only some described here but always found ways to critically analyze our data. Thank you for making this MD-PhD so memorable. 🙏
Since launching over a decade ago we’ve been innovating in the field of DNA sequencing and epigenetics.
As we enter an inspiring new era of omics, we have some big news about what’s next for Cambridge Epigenetix.
Stay tuned for more on 13 April, and then catch us at 👉#AACR23!
Particularly proud of our new paper in Nature Biotechnology, which describes a new method to discriminate the epigenetic bases 5mC, 5hmC and the four canonical DNA bases on a single read. Many years in the making and many people to thank along the way.
"This is outside the energy industry's control."
Dhara Vyas, from Energy UK, calls on the government to do more to tackle soaring energy costs, telling @jackielongc4 the "cross economy" cost of living crisis is being driven by gas prices and the Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Pretty much sums up the impact on our children of a decades long policy of prioritising the storage of empty vehicles in our streets and public spaces.
@fmanjoo In 1978, Fietsersbond made the original 'Spatial Use' poster - since been distributed and duplicated the world over. It captures how much space cities have left over when they invest in facilities for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. https://t.co/OpBy837olp
Out of concern for drivers "trapped" in low-traffic neighbourhoods we've created a helpful infographic to demonstrate how you can leave your street. The filter (here shown in green) means you can't drive that way. However the blue line shows a potential alternative route.
@cyclingindustry@IndependentBic2 Good luck with your work. As a customer, it's not a nice feeling to think that your actually harming your local bike shop by using your cycle to work scheme.
Finally got round to listening to the opinion peice by @fmanjoo on why dedicating space to private car use in cities has to go. I hear you dude. https://t.co/v7JOgWTiQR
A 'coffee corner' chat about the Tooting LTNs
Some love it, some sceptical, some confused, some want changes, some very unhappy
But whatever the views, good conversations in a good spirit and so much more constructive than the toxic online debate
Let's talk, #Tooting
For those losing heart at the senseless vandalism of planters in LTNs - have a look at Amsterdam when the changes began there. Drivers were incensed when they could no longer do as they pleased. Ask the Dutch if they'd like to return to those days....I've asked - they don't.
The LTNs are a trial - six months to see if they work. To use a quote from a wise sage: “these people are not worried that this will fail; they’re terrified it will be successful.”
