Ruto's Kilgoris 900-acre land was previously owned by Kenya's former Vice President, Joseph Murumbi.

Joseph Murumbi, together with his friend Steve Omenge, formed a limited company called Intona Ranch Ltd., with both of them serving as directors. They took out a loan from the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC), using the Kilgoris land as collateral.

They later defaulted on the loan by Ksh 8.6 million after Joseph Murumbi started battling illness, and the land was auctioned by the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC).

William Ruto became the Minister for Agriculture between 2008 and 2010. He started the process of buying the Kilgoris land, and by 2015, he was done with all the processes and bought it for Ksh 28 million.

The Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) is a state-owned corporation and falls under the Ministry of Agriculture, which Ruto once headed.

Did Ruto use his power to purchase the Kilgoris land?

Recently, we have seen how Rafael Tuju's land was also auctioned, despite Rafael Tuju securing a financier who would pay the loan. There were police officers who evicted Rafael Tuju from his land with orders from above. Who is "the above"?
