Pi Network Distributed SLICE Test Tokens To Scale DeFi Education
@PiCoreTeam completed the distribution of SLICE test tokens to 242,000 participating Pioneers, marking a significant expansion of its simulated DeFi ecosystem.
The event saw a commitment of 15.92 million Test-$PI toward the acquisition of 10 million SLICE tokens.
This allows the network to stress-test decentralized liquidity pool mechanics and automated price tracking features within a mobile-first environment.
The rollout introduces an integrated Automated Market Maker (AMM) interface that utilizes a constant-product formula to educate the retail-heavy community on decentralized settlement.
Pi Launchpad has completed the distribution of its second Testnet token, SLICE!
Explore the post-launch experience and see how liquidity pools work through the new price tracking feature!
The Launchpad app in Pi Browser shows individual allocation details, the launch and effective token prices, access to the SLICE liquidity pool, and a chart tracking changes in the SLICE price relative to Test-Pi.
Go to the Pi mining app to learn more about the SLICE launch and liquidity pool mechanics.
In the Pi Launchpad model, projects issue tokens as tools to acquire users for their applications and integrate those tokens directly into product functionality, such as access, payments, rewards, and governance.
Instead of being taken by the issuing project, the proceeds of Pi from their token launch go to a liquidity pool with the ecosystem token, which bootstraps a healthy liquidity foundation from the start.
For the SLICE test launch on Testnet, this results in a liquidity pool containing SLICE and Test-Pi. In addition to matching individual buyers and sellers through a traditional decentralized order book on the Pi DEX, the pool uses an automated market maker algorithm to calculate swaps based on the amounts of both assets it currently holds.

🚨 Something unusual just appeared on the #PiNetwork blockchain… 👀🔥
- This wasn’t a normal transfer.
- It wasn’t a random test transaction either.
- Someone appears to have placed a buy order on the order book. 🤯
Here’s what was spotted:
🔹 manage_buy_offer – Buy orders being placed at specific prices. 🔹 liquidity_pool_deposit – Liquidity being added. 🔹 invoke_host_function – Smart contract functions being triggered. 🔹 Tokens like SLICE, IRRA, and Test-Pi moving through swaps. 🔹 Multiple order book activities within minutes.
Coincidence… or preparation for something much bigger? 👀
If these on-chain signals are what they seem, they could point to the infrastructure behind a future Pi DEX taking shape.
The blockchain often tells the story before the announcement does.
🤔 Are we watching the final pieces fall into place?
