@HonkChomsky@kiwiwit Yes. It's also a literal impossibility. All natural languages are basically equally expressive outside of the vocabulary needed for technical and scientific fields. It's simply not possible for a natural language to exist with only 700 hundred words, it's complete nonsense.
@ausar_the I think nowadays Twitter is so full of bots posting content for engagement, it's just really nice to see a human on this site with genuine interest and the curiosity to dig deeper and tell everyone what they learned
@policytensor American elites may see it that way but it's not the Chinese mindset. If they do sense a reversal, they'll ramp further mil/dual-use spending and delay. They're not opportunists and care more about speed+trajectory than relative position at a particular time
@CiaoCiaota That sounds really interesting, is it still worth reading to learn about those things or is it more interesting from a history of the discipline type of perspective
@writerofscratch I recognise these! They're from the Yi syllabary, a language spoken in southwestern China. Apparently, it has the phonetic value [แตษกvฬฉฬสท] ๊๊๊
@AnalyticaCamil1@prophet_notes He was distorting the numbers but BM launches are still monotonically decreasing. Until there's a marked increase on the previous day it's probably safe to assume the Iranians are simply losing BM/TELs rather than reserving them for a later phase
@tphuang I'll believe it if/when Iranian BM launches reach the same level as the 12 Day War or even the first day of the current war. That will be the tell whether Iranian BMs+TELs have been destroyed or if they were only suppressed and being held in reserve, which feels unlikely to me.
@BjarturTomas Cargo cult socialism with Chinese characteristics. Of course they don't actually know or care how the Chinese system works, they just emulate a hallucinated version of it. Not unlike how post-Soviet Russia attempted cargo cult economic liberalism.
@CoKeynesian There's a certain degree of similarity in how Russia viewed Ukraine prior to the full-scale invasion. The same dismissal of national sovereignty and interests, viewing their cultures essentially as a shallow derivative of their own, paternalistic notions of "brotherhood", etc.
