It was a busy morning at the collection centre today, as we hosted 45 members from the University of Leiden Biological Club. They toured the Mammals, Birds, Insects & Marine invertebrate collections, and had some great questions for us!
Thanks to the organisers for the new swag!
Great to be at Heriot-Watt today with the #RestorationForth team stringing #European Flat oysters to be deployed to the #Forth tomorrow. Great to meet new faces, and with such a positive aim in mind.. to help reverse nature and biodiversity decline where we can. #ostreaedulis
A rather splendid terrestrial Harpacticoid Copepod adorned with ciliates found among leaf litter here in N.E. Scotland. I've no idea what either species might be. I'll make slides & preserve additional specimens in alcohol. for @NtlMuseumsScot

An interesting paper in @DiversityMDPI on the decline of taxonomists. This is something which has needed to be addressed for a long time. When we are facing a biodiversity crisis, knowledge of the species we share the planet with is indispensable https://t.co/Wuz0CtUXMY
