Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer have been left out of England’s World Cup squad.

Ivan Toney, who plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento and Arsenal winger Noni Madueke are among the players to have all been selected for this summer’s tournament by Thomas Tuchel.

The England head coach will name his final 26-man squad on Friday.

Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal is set to leave the club upon the expiration of his contract this summer.

The 34-year-old, a mainstay of Madrid’s senior squad for the past 13 seasons, is expected to leave the Spanish club as a free agent.

Sources close to Carvajal say he is aware of the club’s decision not to renew his deal.
