🚨₹2 lakh bond penalty just to leave a government bank job.
A 31-year-old woman reportedly quit after finding the workload so overwhelming that she said she often couldn’t even find time to use the washroom.
A ₹70,000 salary means little if employees are denied basic dignity, reasonable working hours and work-life balance.
Bank employees are human beings, not machines.
It’s time to address workload, staffing shortages and unrealistic targets—not just celebrate banking numbers.

Absolutely. Repeat complaints must be fixed at the root—not merely closed at the branch level.
But root-cause analysis will only work if banks have adequate staff, proper infrastructure, robust systems and enough time to actually resolve customer issues.
You cannot expect one understaffed branch to handle customers, targets, compliance, audits, recovery, digital banking support and grievance redressal simultaneously—and then be surprised when complaints recur.
Better customer service requires better capacity.
Give branches the people + technology + infrastructure + reasonable working hours they need, and hold the system accountable for outcomes.
Happy customers and healthy bankers are not competing objectives—they are two sides of the same banking system. 🏦

Absolutely agree that technology should complement, not replace, human banking. But there is an important distinction here: the need for a physical branch does not automatically mean that a bank employee must work six days a week.
Financial inclusion requires accessible branches, strong BC networks, ATMs, digital channels and trained bankers—not necessarily a six-day working week for every banking employee.
In fact, a healthier and better-rested workforce can provide better customer service, better financial literacy and more effective assistance to the very people this post rightly talks about.
Digital India + Inclusive Banking + 5-Day Banking are not contradictory ideas.
They can—and should—coexist. 🏦🇮🇳
Because the objective should be better banking, not simply more working days. ❤️

🚦 ₹45,000 crore in unpaid traffic challans? The Supreme Court is asking how recovery can be made more effective.
But here’s a question worth asking: if strict recovery mechanisms can be discussed for unpaid traffic fines, why is there so much less public urgency around massive bank loan defaults and recovery of public money?
🏦 Bankers face relentless pressure for loan recovery, while the system needs equally strong focus on recovering the money that ultimately belongs to depositors and the public.
Recovery should be fair, effective and consistent—whether the defaulter owes ₹2,000 or ₹2,000 crore.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you for raising this important issue.
At a time when the challenges faced by bank employees are increasingly being discussed, your words bring much-needed attention to the human side of banking. The message to “listen to them and see what is happening around you” is an important reminder that the well-being of bank employees deserves serious consideration.
🏦 Banking is the lifeline of the economy—and bankers are the people who keep that lifeline moving.
Thank you for speaking up and helping bring this conversation into the public domain. ❤️

If the banking system can grow at this scale, shouldn't the people running it get better working conditions too?

💔 ANOTHER WEEKEND. ANOTHER BANKER LOST.
2026 has already seen multiple reported deaths and suicides involving bank employees.
And now, within just ONE WEEK, two Grade-B officers of IDBI Bank Bengaluru Zone reportedly passed away:
🔹 C.S. Vijaya Ragavan — 21 Sept, Monday
🔹 Biju Dev V. — 26 Sept, Saturday
The association has raised serious concerns over transfer denial, medical issues and business pressure in Biju Dev’s case.
Then came 27 September — Sunday Banking:
🔴 Neha Gupta, Union Bank
🔴 Venkata Prasad, Union Bank
Both were reportedly involved in separate road accidents while travelling for/returning from Sunday duty.
📌 These are not just statistics.
Behind every banker is a family.
Behind every death is a story.
Behind every working day is a human being.
🖤 How many more lives before we understand that work-life balance is not a luxury?
🗓️ 5-Day Banking is not merely about weekends.
It is about dignity, safety, health and life.
People before targets.
Humanity before business.
Bankers’ lives matter. ❤️

On 27 September 2026—a Sunday—two Union Bank employees, Venkata Prasad and Neha Gupta, reportedly lost their lives in separate road accidents while travelling for/returning from Sunday duty. 🕯️🕯️
These are not just numbers. Behind every banker is a family waiting at home.

Black Saturday. 🖤
@MyIndianBank please suport the family and investigate the case.

💔 A banker is not a machine.
Reports from Chennai say an Indian Bank Chief Manager has died by suicide at the bank’s Head Office.
The exact circumstances behind this tragic death still need to be established.
But one question deserves to be asked.
Are we asking too much from our bankers?
Targets every month.
Business pressure every day.
Constant calls and follow-ups.
Audits. Compliance. Reviews.
Staff shortages.
Customer expectations.
And often, work that continues long after the branch closes.
Behind every “Target Achieved” message is a human being.
Someone’s husband.
Someone’s father.
Someone’s son.
Someone’s brother.
A banker may sit behind a desk wearing a formal shirt and tie, smiling at customers — but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a breaking point.
Banks measure business in numbers.
But a banker’s life cannot be measured in numbers.
If work pressure is pushing even experienced bankers to the edge, the industry needs to stop and ask:
Where did we go wrong?
Targets can be carried forward.
Business can be recovered.
Deadlines can be extended.
But a life lost can never be recovered. 💔

💔 When work starts taking a toll on life…
⚠️ Recent concerns over employees’ health and even deaths during/after demanding assignments highlight how serious the situation has become.
🏦 Bankers’ Key Concerns:
😴 1–2 days’ rest after every audit
🚫 No continuous travel & immediate next assignment
👥 Adequate staffing
✈️ Better travel & accommodation
🏥 Healthcare support during outstation duties
⚖️ Better work-life balance
This is the pathetic working condition bankers are being forced to endure.
