Tech giants are building huge AI data centres right across America. They are hoovering up vital energy and water supplies and leaving many communities without basic essential natural resources. More and more local communities are campaigning against this.
Clean water does more than sustain people. It helps restore the environments around them. This #WorldEnvironmentDay, your contribution can help bring life back to communities.

Dr. Abdulla Humaid Saif Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), affirmed that environmental sustainability has become a core pillar of the emirate's comprehensive development. As part of this vision, Abu Dhabi aims to generate 60% of its electricity from clean and renewable energy sources by 2035. Achieving this goal will require an integrated approach focused on advancing resource efficiency, integrating cutting-edge tech solutions, and modernizing water and energy infrastructure to safeguard natural resources for future generations.

The U.N. uses dogma to create a fake climate crisis. Scientists use data to create graphs which show there is no climate crisis, while extreme weather decreases.
Geoffrey still has much to learn to about the basics of long understood physics -- ice melts when warmed. This is expected to continue until at least the Eddy solar cycle completes its warming phase. Some folks can be so impatient.
UK putting 84% of AI data centres in future drought zones. 40% of their energy just cools servers. You secure water first, then build. Not the other way around, folks.

AI data centres: The monstrosities that guzzle energy and water supply:
โช๏ธ84% of proposed UK AI data centres are planned in areas that are projected to be water stressed by 2040.ย
โช๏ธIf AI data centres electricity use doubles as projected by 2030, the associated carbon footprint would require 6.7 billion trees grown over ten years to offset this demand.
โช๏ธData centres would also require 9.3 trillion litres of water and land nearly ten times the size of Mexico City.
As global energy and water supplies are already under strain and with fragile water ecosystems worldwide, can there really be any justification for governments to facilitate tech giants and their plundering of energy and water?
And while the AI centres guzzle water and energy, we will be told by the government to switch off our lights and switch off the hosepipes due to supply shortages.
@ChEnected@UofR No toxic brine AND lithium recovery? Now that's thinking. Zero liquid brine has been desal's Achilles heel for decades. Scaling's the real question.
One thing we don't need is more desalination plants dotting the California coast, as far too expensive! Better doing direct potable reuse!
