@LiemMac To each their own, but I don't even think it's the best *Futurama* series finale that's ever been aired (I prefer The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings).
@xpstudiosp I wish you no ill will and you're as welcome to your opinion as anyone else is. I just firmly believe using shorthand is above board, given this platform's constraints. To me, if anything about the original post is more reddit than its list, it's the apologetic parentheticals.
@xpstudiosp I was scrolling through the quote tweets and was bothered by this enough to hazard a response:
I don't think forming initialisms is done "unnecessarily" in a 280-character format. Also, to me, linguistic perscriptivism seems like a reddit trait (that I used to have).
@e3yugioh Ah, I understand.
Still, Spear Dragon aside, I've got cards and compliments for you this weekend. I'll do my best to find you at a moment where you can take a breather from organizing and I can take a breather from dueling.
@Jack_Realer007 They're nice to have. Just last night I was l looking at my Books and 'mirin, hahaha.
Bottomless price got crazy. Definitely didn't think it'd sniff the prices LP/NM ones are fetching now. Good luck on the hunt!
@Jack_Realer007 God, same here. I wish we had a print of the alt-art that was English and holo. Like, imagine how clean the Duelist Pack print would look in that UDE-era Super
I like when cards mill 2 (e.g. my Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid or an opponent's Don Zaloog) because on Duelingbook, if you're not lagging you can type the /m really softly and then do the i-l-l-2-enter keypresses in a way that the mill sound effect completes a "shave and a haircut"
@FancyDiesel Depends. Infernape uses its own hands. I'm singing Caterpie a lullaby while I quench its thirst. Hitmonchan's getting the lemonade poured/squeezed by its trainer because it's a fight. I'm just chucking the can at Muk without telling it to look out.
@e3yugioh Plus, I think the way the playerbase "verbs" their interactions favors Book.
When I "book" something, I think of justice prevailing in Hawaii Five-O ("book 'em, Danno"). When I "compulse" something, I think "not using 'compel' bolsters that meme about YGO players' literacy"
@e3yugioh Book of Moon.
Quick-play, so it can aura farm immediately. One can conceive of gamestates where activating it when you draw it to beat Dustshoot is optimal.
Both cards are "low inherent (card) complexity, high utility due to emergent (game) complexity", but imo Book moreso.
@VSBassoon@on_da_spectrum@deezhawn For whatever it's worth, I can corroborate. I'd think all math(s)-inclined readers would. Like, you balk at some IJ endnotes but think maybe it's character schtick, but then you read Everything & More and it's clear that the skill gap is substantial.
@xryuran@Cimoooooooo Agree with shifting the hate to Manga Ryu-Ran, but thought I'd reply to note that if it wasn't clear, Ryu-Ran is literally a card in the Konami-approved on-boarding experience of the 2-Player Starter Set. Reasonable for 2003 Pegasus vs Joey starters, but STAS came out in 2024.
@vividvoid After a few decades on this planet, my main takeaway is that the trick to playing well with others is to figure out who is using evil in service of good and who is using good in service of evil, and act accordingly.
@vividvoid It's an important lesson everyone must learn. Performing 100% good-aligned actions will not outperform making tactical deviations, ever. Ditto re: the reverse - pure evil needs occasional scoped good to accomplish any useful evil.
