Our B.1.427/B.1.429 SARS-CoV-2 variant paper is published in Cell. Two lineages, ~20% inc transmissibility, >50% of cases in CA by Feb 2021, 2X dec neutralizing Abs in vaccinees & 4-6.3X in convalescent pts, 5.8-22X inc infxn of cell cxs & lung organoids. https://t.co/OBUPpgDKp0
Hi all - I am pleased to share with you our newest paper in @NatureMedicine describing a metagenomic sequencing assay from body fluids using @nanopore and @illumina platforms. Use metagenomics to diagnose infection from nearly all clinical sample types! https://t.co/Id7LJZfKES
Analysis of #SARSCoV2 genomes from a small number of #California-based patients suggests CA's #COVID19 epidemic is less from community spread of the virus & more from introductions from state-to-state & international travel. https://t.co/GJoCZRVmhO
Our paper on early SARS-CoV-2 introduction and spread into Northern California is now out in Science! Thanks to
@UCSF @CDPublicHealth @CDCgov@SCCgov@SF_DPH
@EvolveDotZoo and many others for a truly collaborative effort.
RT @cychiu98 We have designed MSSPE primers (13mers) for detection and genome sequencing of nCoV-2019 #coronavirus by @nanopore sequencing, currently testing on spiked material and samples(https://t.co/mU076Y2nbS).Fits well for large scale genome sequencing.
Check out our group’s paper: This study describes a new method that improves the sensitivity of viral detection compared with NGS, enables detection of emerging flaviviruses not targeted a priori.

@oozanon @nanopore Impressive. I tried enterovirus once, couldn't get any viral reads. Wonder if need A-tailing step, even viral RNA should have poly-A tail.
