The French Ministry of Culture has appointed me a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. I am only the second Deafblind person, after Helen Keller, to receive this distinction. If only Helen were here to guide me. She could read and write French; I’m still working on that. 1/3
🚨The Eritrean totalitarian regime uses these kinds of events to extort money through coercive methods, to spread false propaganda, and to intimidate its political opponents within the community. Despite clear international financial restrictions, the Eritrean regime continues to demand an illegitimate 2% tax from British citizens of Eritrean descent. To enforce its clandestine activities, the Eritrean regime has created a big network of operatives which it calls ‘The Fourth Front’ (AKA 4G), which is led by militant groups verifiably trained in Eritrea and are active in the community. It is very crucial that we remain vigilant and proactively protect our community from the risks posed by these dangerous individuals who promote hate, intimidation and discord in the community.
The Eritrean regime’s Fourth Front is responsible for sowing division within the Eritrean community using events like this in the UK and in other countries. It is important to recognize the harmful impact such events may have. Judging from experience, it may create an atmosphere of discord that could escalate into physical confrontations and other serious conflicts. As tensions rise between regime supporters and advocates of the justice-seeking movements such as the Blue Revolution. We cannot afford to overlook the serious ramifications this may cause. In the past, such escalations have led to the tragic murders of justice-seeking activists in Israel and elsewhere. We must stress that this event poses a risk by creating this volatile environment. Therefore, we urge you to take decisive action to prevent further escalation and maintain the integrity of our community. @telegraaf@UKHouseofLords@ukhomeoffice@UKPolitics_AMA@10DowningStreet@MayorofLondon@SadiqKhan@LDN_pressoffice@UKParliament@Keir_Starmer@Kier_Starmer_PM@BBCLondonNews@MPSHackney@hackneycouncil@HackneyAbbott@DavidAltonHL@realDonaldTrump

The Horn of Africa, a region steeped in rich historical narratives and home to ancient civilizations such as Aksum, faces significant challenges due to ongoing conflict and oppressive governance. This is particularly evident in Eritrea, where Isaias Afwerki's authoritarian rule stifles progress and human rights. The pathway to unlocking the Horn of Africa's vast potential lies in the establishment of democratic governance, which is essential for cultivating lasting peace and ensuring accountability among leaders. It is imperative for the international community to rally behind initiatives that promote democratic change, paving the way for a brighter, more hopeful future for the region.

“The Eritrean Embassy in Israel paid financial guarantees to release Eritrean supporters of the regime, who were arrested in Israel following cases of violence, theft, vandalism and more.”
In the document in question, Assaf Noam - a judge from a tribunal for reviewing the custody of illegal residents - wrote that the Eritrean Embassy in Israel actually paid a guarantee of NIS 84,000 for the release of those violators from detention. The payment in question is transferred by the government in the African country in the cases of detainees who are supporters of the regime in Eritrea, who help pay off debts to refugees who live in Israel and are obligated to pay taxes to their government on their salaries.
Eritrea, we emphasize, is known for a repressive and murderous regime, and there is a real fear for the lives of the citizens who oppose it.
When it comes to clear regime supporters, no one can answer why they have not been deported back to their country so far - certainly when they violently attack the asylum seekers whose lives are in real danger.
The document that came to us was written last September by the Dane Noam, and it deals with an Eritrean citizen named Ashplai Manu. In the document, the judge refers to the Eritrean embassy's request to receive a refund for the bond that was deposited for Manu's release from custody, and to the refusal of the Population and Immigration Authority to return the money after being surprised by the very fact of knowing who pays the bond. Noam stated, in fact, that the request should not be discussed until Manu returns to his country, which supports him - and pointed out that it is not at all clear why he is staying in Israel.
The foreign worker was placed under arrest at the Givon detention facility, following his involvement in riots in September of last year in front of the Eritrean Embassy building in Tel Aviv, during which he hit other foreigners with clubs and committed a lot of vandalism.
"It was also noted that the Population and Immigration Authority was surprised by the fact that it was the Eritrean embassy that deposited the bond amounts for the release of the Eritrean detainees from custody, amounting to NIS 84,000, and in any case, the possibility of removing Eritreans identified as regime supporters from Israel is currently being considered by the senior officials - especially in view of the recurrence of violent riots among the regime's supporters and his opponents".
The judge also noted: "Therefore, the Eritrean embassy will come to the rescue and help the detainee to return to his country, when this detainee was personally helped while he was in custody, and when he was arrested as part of violent incidents on the side of the supporters of the regime in Eritrea." According to the judge, "it became clear in the hearing and discussion with him that there is in fact no obstacle to his return to his country and the reason for his stay in Israel was not actually clarified. After the detainee does so and leaves Israel in accordance with the removal order in his case, the embassy will be able to return and apply for the return of the bond it deposited to ensure his departure from Israel."
The netherland is well aware of 🚩Eritrea's brutal dictatorship, which suppresses both inside and outside its borders. Yet, democracy activists face imprisonment instead of the regime being held accountable. Authorities must release the innocent and investigate the regime's actions. #BlueRevolution @UNHumanRights@amnestyusa@amnesty@hrw@DutchMFA@thenetherlands@CSWadvocacy@amnesty@BBCWorld
Norway, the home of the @NobelPeaceOslo which gave Abiy Ahmed Ali the 2019 #NobelPeacePrize, a license that he used to exterminate close to a million Tigrayans and subject millions to the horrors of #TigrayGenocide, is now sending Tigrayan asylum seekers back to Ethiopia.
"We'll not have mercy on these dirty Tigrayans. Together (with the Eritreans), we'll erase them."
