@SanjayK27310177@chefjaved1 It was called Doli in our home.
Used to store food. Its door and sides were partially covered with steel netting to keep the food safe from flies and other pests.
Its legs were in small vessels filled with water for protection
@arvindsubraman The prices of everything have been increasing, from milk to medicines, bread to phones, everything.
The MRPs of medicines have gone up by exactly 10% every year for several years now.
Does that affect the stats?
BTW, can anyone explain why do we have MRP in the age of GST?

"The circular stamp on the Amul butter wrapper is the AGMARK quality certification mark from the Government of India, which ensures the product meets official purity and grade standards."
This is a quality mark from older days. Assurance of purity and quality
Imagine a Traffic light(which should stop or warn a train)being very small! Will it be able to avert an accident? No, right? In the same way, if FSSAI's proposal of FOPL warnings about them being just one font size larger than the back of the pack labeling, is implemented, basically, it's like no warning at all! You know what companies will do?! They will decrease the font size of the back of the pack label even further and the FOPL warnings also will be very small.
So, who will lose at the end? The Public. Who will gain? Food industry. We need prominent warning labels, not some eye wash!
It should not be something like one font size more than the back of the pack label. It should be prominent.
FSSAI is saying they'll warn us only about added sugars and added fats. It's nonsense!
So, sausages will escape warnings! . Artery clogging, saturated fat containing frozen desserts will escape warnings! Fruit juices, we'll keep drinking loads and loads thinking we are not drinking too much sugar! Foods loaded with honey, coconut sugar, date syrup etc, all these will escape warnings. We need warnings about total sugars and total fats, not added sugars and added fats.
@fssaiindia@MoHFW_INDIA@JPNadda when you warn people about unhealthy foods, the warnings need to be clear and transparent!

As the nation warmly recalls Dr. Manmohan Singh on his birth anniversary today, here is a lovely throwback to historic Sriharikota on Aug 8, 1978. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is speaking. The legendary Satish Dhawan, the architect of ISRO, is on his left and the eminent physicist-science administrator MGK Menon is on Dr. Singh’s right. This was a Space Commission meeting.
@MoHFW_INDIA Kindly do not use "Analogue" for food
Analogue has two meanings
In technology it refers to signals, data, or devices that use continuously variable physical quantities
In English, something that is similar, comparable, or parallel to ...
Please ban this immediately
@fssaiindia@fssaiindia should ban the practice of manufacture of fake food products
Why saying "analogue"?
So that common man will not understand?
ताकि आम जनता को समझ ना आये?
@indSupremeCourt
kindly tell @fssaiindia to order ban immediately, and please use accurate language.
@fssaiindia Just do it .
Paneer=Cottage Cheese
Ghee= Clarified Butter
Label must be compulsory. Made from milk of cow or buffalo
If not made from milk, ban it
Ban Fake/Synthetic paneer
Ban नकली पनीर
Say fake or नकली, not analogue
Ban नकली घी
Ban नकली मक्खन
Ban नकली icecream
@vikramchandra IMHO, all these details and schedules should been widely notified in newspapers, TV, social media, other digital media, SMS, for months beforehand. And plenty of time given to people to collect their documents, and correct any errors.
Or for all concerned
Not make errors
@vikramchandra I think it was notified that we had to carry birth certificate, or class 10 certificate, and the same for our parents, when meeting the BLO for SIR verification. Plus other docs.
Class 10 cert or school leaving certificate is accepted as proof of DOB.
When we look at an oak, a sequoia, or a balsa tree in the Amazon rainforest, we're looking at solidified carbon and oxygen.
Trees do not obtain structural mass from the soil; it comes out of thin air. Plants are built almost entirely from atmospheric gases—living, complex architectures of carbon, oxygen and sunlight. No wonder that as children, we hug them, play and climb in them, or wander through their woods, hearing them sighing in the wind.
Around 90% to 95% of a tree's dry weight is carbon and oxygen, pulled directly from atmospheric carbon dioxide. Most people assume trees draw their body from the earth, yet the soil volume beneath a canopy remains unchanged as a sapling matures into a giant.
Roots do not consume dirt to build branches; large trees leave no gaping holes in the ground. Instead, the root network is a mechanical anchor to hold the heavy tree structure upright, while absorbing water and a tiny fraction of soil minerals—nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. These are their biological multivitamins, accounting for less than 5% of final dry mass.
Through photosynthesis, sunlight breaks apart carbon dioxide and water molecules. The plant releases oxygen back into the atmosphere and chains the remaining carbon and oxygen into glucose molecules, forming complex structural polymers like cellulose and lignin.
Across the globe, an estimated 3 trillion trees hold roughly 500 billion cubic meters of wood. Every forest on Earth is in reality solidified atmosphere—hundreds of billions of tons of air trapped, structured and given physical form by living plants.
Mankind owes its survival to these friendly giants of the natural world.
@BhavreenMK@hridayeshjoshi Parthenium is one invasive plant species that should be removed.
It came with the wheat from the USA in the 60's.
Before deforestation, please order sample felling over a small area, and watch for a few years. If the soil becomes degraded, let's think again
