Congress and IRS hasn't updated some tax items for inflation in decades:

- $3k capital loss limit (1978). It's $15.8k now.
- $3k dependent care credit (1976). It's $17.8k now.
- $25k/$32k social security income tax bracket (1984). It's $81k/$103k now.

Everything should be adjusted for inflation.
