What makes the devil not sovereign is that he is capable of only some things, death. If God is capable of only life then he isn't sovereign. This must be ragebait.

I pointed out a distinction between who was speaking and the thief (one is capable of ONLY death and one can give life). This not a logical rebuttal from you. The speaker gave clarity on the purpose of the thief, and then gave a distinction.

Those are the completeness of things the devil is capable of. The distinction between God, man and the devil is that only one being there is capable of giving life.
