@WG_RumblePants Though we are on opposite sides today (since I grew up near the northern borders of Gooch and Fletcher's Essex), I wish you a very happy birthday.
@TheBarmyArmy It is a wonderful stat and I'm glad it had a worthy holder - but then if it were not this innings it would be another. I think the Alec Stewart 8463 is beautifully precise, but in the end I can't look beyond 99.94 and the duck which kept it below 100. Outstanding, yet human.
@WG_RumblePants Of course he had a bad winter (and even the end of the summer) but what struck me before they me was the variety of different and important innings he played for England at significant moments in a tough India series. Great if he has that energy back!
@CapelLofft The story is told that about 55 years ago my father built a large and intricately engineered sandcastle on a sunny Spanish beach, complete with bridges over moats that held water. He called me over to admire his creation, so I sat on it.
If the Easter accounts are true, then there is hope - and the evidence is stronger than you might think. I’d love it if you’d check these out…

@thevicarswife I was struggling to spell this in a quiz this week and ended up missing out the first (or possibly the second) "L". Fortunately we did not lose marks for spelling mistakes, but the bigger question is why, given my handwriting, I was allowed to be the scribe for our team.
@AntigoneJournal@Athanasius_45 Yes, that was my thought. I would encourage Paul and Pythagoras to include a debate between the two of them as part of the programme.
