When narcissists seek therapy, at first you might think it’s a good thing. You might think that they’ve finally realized something is wrong with their behavior and they genuinely want to change, but this often isn’t the case. Narcissists go to therapy to either put on their best “victim” act, or to pretend that nothing is wrong with them and complain about everyone else. Either way, they learn how to better manipulate their victims, and others, by getting “proof” from their therapist that they aren’t the problem.

I grew up in IBLP/ATI. We were also taught the curse was passed to us when we “adopted” them. Gothard hated adoption. He even encouraged families with adopted kids to put those kids up for re-adoption. I’m adopted. Growing up in ATI as an adopted kid was hell
