@LaughinOutLoudr@klara_sjo@OwenBenjamin Oh hail no- I’d be climbing up on her furniture to take it down. Or bring something to generate enough smoke or other particles to set it all the way off, then leave.
@BlackKnight10k It’s their choice. Not like there’s a surplus of blood out there- give it to people who need it and believe in medicine.
If they don’t reproduce, complete Darwinian win.
Robin Williams stayed sober for 20 years before a single thought in a remote Alaskan town triggered a relapse.
In this interview, he reflects on the full arc of his addiction: how cocaine became a form of self-medication, why he quit in the early 1980s, what led to his relapse after two decades of sobriety, and how asking for help became the turning point in his recovery.
He explained that cocaine did not make him more talkative, but did the opposite:
“I think I did it because it would actually allow me not to talk. It was like reverse medication… It just kind of shuts you down.”
The first major turning point came after the death of his friend John Belushi from an overdose and the realization that he was about to become a father.
“I remember stopping it on my own because I was about to have a son… You don’t want to be like that.”
For 20 years, he remained sober.
Then, while staying in a small town in Alaska, he had a sudden thought that changed everything.
“I thought I could drink… It’s the same thought you have if you look off a large building and go, ‘I can fly.’ And within a week it was gone.”
After relapsing, he came to a different conclusion:
“Now, I realize I can’t.”
Unlike the first time, his second recovery involved rehab and professional support. He said one of the hardest obstacles was the belief that he could control it on his own.
“The more intelligent you think you are, the harder it is to let go.”
The lesson he ultimately arrived at was surrender:
“You gotta just say, ‘I can’t do it.’ … ‘Nope, you lose, you can’t do it. You need help.’ And at that point, that’s the beginning.”

I remember this one time when Fauci said masks would be a good idea and then my mom and I sewed and gave away hundreds of them. I remember that no one had masks to fit kids and we came up with multiple sizes to fit anyone. I remember driving around with my son and delivering them to people's doorsteps. I also remember that my Emergency physician husband partnered with the local university to design plexiglass barricades that would block aerosols but give the medical staff safe access to patients' airways. I remember when they distributed them to hospitals across our whole region. I remember sewing washable weighted tubes to hold drapes down over hospital patients. I remember running our 3-D printer all day and cutting up document sleeves to make visors for the medical staff. I remember going to the hardware store to get respirators for the hospital and then coming home and design designing washable fabric covers for them. I remember being grateful when we could finally get the vaccine.
I remember watching that self-centered, laughingstock, pedophile dipshit on the television and thinking we were screwed no matter what we did.
I remember listening to Fauci and thinking "this guy isn't gonna give up on us."

@awesoman12321@charise_lee So a woman knowingly leaves the house with a vagina- the rapist knows she has a vagina, too- she shouldn’t be surprised when he tires to rape her?
Mammal, please.
“ Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
The battle outside ragin'
Will soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'”

@DrGoose305@RealTomPowellJr Unfortunately, he could use short words and crayons, she was not going to listen to anything he said.
She was going to be a howling asshat because she has zero emotional regulation and never learned how to be a grownup.
@AriMelber@TheBeatWithAri@DylanRatigan Ok, this was always entertaining (I taught collegiate level bio)- Attenborough dropping science as only he can: https://t.co/XrSaobQ0vv
