🧵1/3 "The shortest path is the one you don't abandon."
Progress often disguises itself as repetition. Sticking with the process—especially when it feels slow—is often faster than switching paths in search of shortcuts. Momentum compounds. #Leadership#GrowthMindset

1 Kings 18:33
And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.
INSIGHT
In a day and age where there is a temptation to manufacture and spice a testimony and make it good for the cameras...Elijah made it really hard. Imagine water on wood and you want God to answer by fire.
Some thoughts:
1. You don't have to make it easy for God...God does it anyway
2. A miracle is not an experiment - don't bring ingredients and additives to make a miracle. Just bring faith
Joseph was 'on the run' when he was in the running to be Prime Minister. David was 'on the run' when he was in the running to be King. Moses and others too! When the enemy thinks you are RUNNING AWAY he doesn't know you are on the RUNWAY to your success!
Lessons from Kadesh-Barnea: Embracing the Journey, Conquering Fear, and Reaching Canaan
Deuteronomy 1:19
So we departed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw on the way to the mountains of the Amorites, as the LORD our God had commanded us. Then we came to oasis of Kadesh Barnea.
Imagine you have packed your bags. You have the air ticket. You go to the airport ready to fly to a new land of opportunity. A rude immigration officer rebukes you for no good reason. You leave the queue to go and cry in the bathroom. You miss the flight! Your ticket is non refundable and non transferable. You had sold your house to buy the air ticket so you can’t even go back home. Now you are stuck!
This is the story of the children of Israel. After breaking camp at Horeb and going on the journey of their whole life, they get distracted at Kadesh Barnea because of unfounded fear. Imagine they had seen the Red Sea part, mighty Pharoah reduced to a whimp. But still…aaah
A journey that should have taken 11 days to Canaan took them 38 years.
What they should have done, they didn’t. And what they did, they shouldn't have. So God decided they needed some time to rethink a few things. He took them the long way. Don't go through life missing the point!
A few insights:
1. Every opportunity comes with a challenge. Kadesh means “Holy Place” and Barnea means “wandering desert”. How geographically bipolar is that! The good comes wrapped in the bad.
2. Don’t hold on to a small good - “oasis” (Kadesh) because there is too much bad - “desert” - (Barnea) around you.
3. Don’t settle for crumbs “Kadesh” when you can have the whole full table - “Canaan”. At Kadesh the children of Israel only settled for a cluster of grapes that the spies had brought back from Canaan. Yet they could have the whole Canaan wine farm. Imagine!
4. There is a grace for every place and an anointing for every appointing. If you miss the timing, you will wander in a wilderness
5. Fear diminishes opportunity while magnifying threat. At Kadesh children of Israel believed the report of giants in Canaan and decided to stay in a desert!
Don’t be stuck in your Kadesh-Barnea! Break camp and cross over for a take over…
Every once in a while, check your heart for PRIDE. It is an insidious intruder that sneaks into your heart posing as gravitas or self-esteem & calling itself CONFIDENCE—when in reality, it is deep insecurity demanding high honor.
