If you trace your ancestors before USA was formed you're FBA. If your genealogy paperwork of ancestors say colored, negro, or a tribe your FBA.

Most H1B visas yield the lowest IT jobs and America's cutting edge in Technology usually came from Americans, multi generational born Americans who created all this stuff used. H1Bs is status quo not cutting edge.

@elonmusk You often talk about how great it is to have so many 'smart' immigrants. Really? Here's reality:

1. Due to admissions policies at top technical schools, American students compete with the WORLD'S students for a slot at MIT etc. No other society does this to their kids. Why is this okay?

2. 300k Chinese in the nation now on student visas. Many more in our research universities. By the implication of your statements, you seem to believe this is fine. Amirite?

3. Many foreign students cheat to get here and cheat routinely in our top universities. It's an epidemic among Chinese students and American professors are told to ignore it.

4. 50% of native born Americans have STEM degrees but don't work in stem. This the consequence of careless immigration like 'pin a diploma on every grad' nah. The U.S. became the leader in tech without importing 'talent', Elon - I worked in biz since '83 and watched all this happen with my own eyes.

I'll close w a story. About 20 years go AIG was 'offshoring' it's IT team and fired all the American based workers. They had to train their replacements in order to get their severance - this is inhumane in the extreme and needs to stop. The replacement workers sucked - as they often do, fyi. So they had to go back and rehire a bunch of Americans.

H1B and insane non-regulation of all our visa programs and have allowed native born Americans to be pushed out of tech, we are a minority in tech in our own nation. This isn't normal or necessary or good for our nation.
