Devin Vassell says Dylan Harper was frustrated with his role and playing time with the Spurs the season.
“But when we needed him most he stepped up.”

Spurs were ahead of schedule, great year on a whole.
That said, Finals trips don’t grow on trees and you may not have expected it but now you’ve been and you’ve learned:
- Fire Mitch
- Trade Fox
- Harper is that guy
- Don’t get caught with six bench vets you CAN’T ever play.
Lowest Finals PPG average by a reigning Sixth Man of the Year:
Keldon Johnson - 4.4 PPG
Aaron McKie - 8.0 PPG (in 2001)
Bill Walton - 8.0 PPG (in 1986)
You didn’t wanna bench Fox for Harper and it cost us the finals, we could’ve won this finals easily. You’re a disgrace and shouldn’t coach for the spurs ever again.
Mitch Johnson:
"We weren't ready to win an NBA championship, better team won, we did a lot of good things, and we didn't finish the job, and that's what it is"
Whew, thank goodness Mitch just took Harper out of the game. He's played 20 whole minutes tonight. Probably exhausted. He's only 8-12 while Fox & Castle are 2-16. Not like he was taking over the game.
De’Aaron Fox is the worst spur of all time and it’s not a competition. Mitch Johnson cost the spurs a ring bc he didn’t want to hurt Fox’s feelings. Pathetic.
