@amazonDE just FYI, if you live in apt. building in Germany none of these delivery prefernces apply...
It's a little tough as I'm usually at work until late and would love it if the package could be left at a "custom" location

Had an issue with my @Delta upgrade so I went to the @flyPBI check-in counter. The attendant Tiffany who helped me was the epitome of efficiency and kindness. Just wanted to give her a shout out!

... get a rapid test and politely asked if he could help her check in, as her flight was leaving in an hour. The @delta person scowled and said that she was very late and he wasn't sure what he could do for her. Overall, this was a very upsetting experience. (2/2)
Yeah, I was with @mdpax when this happened. The @ATLairport@Delta employee did not just give wrong information but was also incredibly dismissive and callous. When we tried to check-in, another person apparently had been given the same misinformation but had managed to ... (1/2)
1/ With international travel beginning to open up, I thought I'd share my recent unfortunate experience with @Delta. I booked my initial flight DL4365 to London for a new job on April 20th through the Delta website.
@cedwardson4@UGAHealthCenter@UGA@BORUSG Theoretically yes, but they r still contacting people in order of "risk" (high 2 low). UGAs risk assessment doesn't include individuals hu were forced to teach f2f, and only considers a small # of pre-existing conditions. This is not UHCs doing but missmanagement by higher admin
BF just got an e-mail from @UGAHealthCenter to get the vaccine, yet he is at a lower risk than I. I have been teaching f2f for the entire semester yet am not considered higher risk. Thanks @uga and @BORUSG for once again showing how little you appreciate your TAs/instructors.
One of my students just referred to a hockey stick/spreader as a smear bar, and spread plating as sweeping. I'm not sure if I should deduct points or give bonus points for this 🤣 from now on it will always be a smear bar.

Would you like to help make UGA Life Sciences more diverse and inclusive? The Advocates for Anti-racism in the Life Sciences at the University of Georgia would like to invite you to participate in the UGA Life Sciences Climate Survey. Link to survey in bio! A thread about it🧵
@drdevangm How about finding a moderately productive postdoc who splits their time between benchwork and science communication/outreach? Now that's a compromise!
Dr. Olivia Thompson became interested in science while watching the show “Zoom” as a child and recreating from the show with her siblings. It is because of this experience that Dr. Thompson especially values science outreach for kids #BlackHistoryMonth (1/3)
@hangryhistorian Just want to note that those numbers are from my experience in my field. Offcourse national lab salaries and industry salaries vary by field.
@hangryhistorian So many comments here where people r laughing at how obviously inaccurate this salary is in academia. The picture changes outside of academia. Nat. labs pay postdocs ~$60K, industry jobs at ~$80K. Academia is hemorrhaging talent because people aren't paid what they are worth.
@MGSO_UGA Great advice, except #networking is super important. U r more likely to get hired somewhere where you know people than if no 1 knows u. Also, there r many non-bench jobs that require a PhD that put emphasis on skills rather than pubs. @cheekyscience @AuroraBtP @UGACareerCenter
