My 85‑year‑old grandfather passed away recently. I flew back to the city where I was born to attend his funeral. I grew up with him, so we shared a very deep emotional bond.

When he was admitted to the hospital, imaging scans showed that his lungs had turned white. Given the ongoing COVID‑19 pandemic, it was almost certain that he had contracted the virus. The hospital said his body was too frail to survive, so they only provided oxygen support; he died two days later.

He had been diagnosed with stomach cancer three years ago and underwent a total gastrectomy. Without a stomach, he became extremely emaciated. The cancer recurred six months ago, but because of severe malnutrition, the tumor grew very slowly. This time, however, the COVID‑19 infection overwhelmed his already weakened immune system, and he simply could not fight it off. He is the first person in my family to have died from COVID‑19.

He was the senior most figure in the NSC, warning that if Iran were attacked, the first thing it would do is close the Strait of Hormuz.

So now the Zionist movement and lobby that is responsible for this war through think tanks like the foundation for the Destruction of Democracies, I mean the defence of democracies, they are running up against the hard rocks of reality.

And it’s a cold, hard reality that the capitalist class actually can perceive and which the working class experiences through staggering gas prices which make it hard for them to get to work or drive their Ubers.

And the only group in the world that exists outside this reality are Zionists who are willing to see more schoolgirls slaughtered and to send the global economy spiralling and to cause an energy shock like we haven’t seen for decades in order to defend their psychotic little, apartheid project in occupied Palestine.’
