@drviviantan presenting 5-year clinical outcomes for patients with solitary vs bilateral kidneys treated with SBRT at #ASTRO2023. SBRT safe and effective for RCC, even with solitary kidneys. 👏👏Compelling study!! @DrCorreaRO@_ShankarSiva@DrAlexLouie

Hot off the digital presses...the DART RCT protocol is now published in BMC Palliative Care https://t.co/VDyq3GM0c6
We also just passed 50% accrual and look forward to adding randomized evidence to the growing body of work in "sim-free" palliative RT

Happy to share our thoughts in the JCO on the randomized evidence on oligometastases, challenges in producing randomized evidence in this space, and ongoing phase III trials. @drdavidpalma@HoudaBahig

Many phase III trials are ongoing and will help to define the oligometastatic state, identify biomarkers, and confirm the benefits observed in phase II studies.
Barriers such as off-trial availability and clinicians' lack of equipoise have made completion of randomized trials challenging, and we propose strategies to overcome these barriers.
Final version of manuscript is now available online @IJROBP
Again, the OMD state could represent a continuous spectrum of disease burden.
My top conundrum.. Dose 1-3 definition come from the fact that we can treat <= 3 or 5 lesions easily and safely?

Proud of my team in BC for completing the SABR-5 trial, which demonstrates SABR is safe in patients treated for oligometastases, in a well coordinated, peer-reviewed population-based program. https://t.co/EfZdLMMP79
2022: cancer staging? There's an app for that. Memorizing AJCC manuals harkens from a time of phone booths and Blockbuster. Except for RadOnc! Since I don't believe in brute-force techniques, I created a "Mind Map" for mentally consuming the AJCC 8th edition:
Radiation☢️is an effective treatment to reduce symptoms from advanced lung cancer - can modern RT reduce treatment-related side effects? - a🧵on the🇨🇦phase III PROACTIVE RCT... #radonc#lcsm https://t.co/X4IiQ5OqqO
As one of the senior residents in the ED admitting patients to the hospital over the last few weeks, there's nothing "mild" about how #COVID19 continues to affect the most vulnerable (elderly, comorbid, immunocompromised).
