Picture this: a mother in Sudan clutches her kids, eyes hollow from hunger, while bombs shake the ground. War doesn't care about dreams-it just steals them. Hospitals get hit, kids get buried, and the world... just watches. Why? #StopGenocide#SudanCrisis
Thank you to all my friends, colleagues, and everyone who has wished me well during the ordeal in the past few days.
I'm especially grateful to the colleagues and airport staff, who were selfless as they tried to protect me.
We faced a very dangerous attack, but my @UN colleagues and I are now safe. We successfully evacuated our wounded colleague to Amman, and he is stable.
My heart goes out to our colleagues on the front lines and the civilians who face such danger every day.
I am on my way back home to Geneva.
.@WHO and partners reached Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern #Gaza two days ago, amid hostilities and explosions in the vicinity of the hospital during the mission. The team delivered 5000 liters of fuel, food and medicines, and transferred 3 patients and 6 companions to Al-Shifa Hospital.
In the last week, four WHO missions to Kamal Adwan have been arbitrarily denied, including the re-deployment of the international emergency medical team, which had self-evacuated from the hospital on 6 December due to hostilities. This has left the hospital without specialized personnel for surgical and maternal care.
Hostilities around the hospital continue and recent attacks have further damaged the oxygen supply, generators, and broken windows and doors of the patients' rooms.
The conditions in the hospital are simply appalling.
We urge for the protection of health care and for this hell to stop! Ceasefire!
It's easy to get caught up in nonstop work. Precious moments like a simple walk with my daughter, who is growing too fast, remind me of what matters most. She helps me improve my work-life balance, one step at a time. Give it a try!

.@WHO and partners transferred 5 pediatric patients - four cancer patients and a patient with second degree burns - from Al-Ahli hospital yesterday to Nasser Medical Complex. They will continue receiving care there until the cancer patients are able to leave #Gaza for specialised care.
We also delivered medical supplies to cover the health needs of 20,000 patients at Al-Ahli and As-Sahaba hospitals along with 19000L of fuel. In addition, the rotation of 8 @PalestineRCS team members to southern Gaza, who were working in the north over the past few weeks, was also supported.
Over 10,000 people need medical evacuations outside #Gaza. We call for their sustained medical evacuation and timely passage via all possible routes.
Above all, the people in Gaza need peace. Ceasefire.
