WHAT HAPPENED TO MILK?
So many people have quietly given it up.
A staple in our diet… slowly neglected and forgotten, and honestly - it’s not hard to see why.
Walk into the milk aisle and it’s all the same.
Row upon row of bright white cartons - perfectly uniform with no story and no provenance.
Just price - a race to the bottom that’s stripped the value out of milk completely.
Then there's the taste - that’s gone too.
When efficiency becomes the priority, milk gets pushed hard - blasted through systems designed for speed so the natural variation disappears and the character is lost
It becomes… functional - from supermarkets in Lands end to John O Groats, it's just 'milk'.
And then there’s how it makes people feel.
Bloating. Discomfort. Just not right after a glass - so people stop drinking it and somewhere along the way, we all just accepted that.
But here’s the thing…
Milk hasn’t changed.
The way we treat it has.
Most supermarket milk is heavily standardised - broken down and forced to behave the same every time. It’s efficient, consistent and it lasts.
But it’s a long way from how milk starts its life.
What we do is much simpler.
We don’t blast it in high pressure machines.
We don’t force it into uniformity.
We handle it gently and leave its natural structure largely intact whilst brewing it for safety.
And then the messages come in…
“I can drink this.”
“I thought milk was the problem.”
“This feels completely different.”
We’re not making medical claims - everyone’s different.
But there’s a growing belief that how milk is processed matters - and studies are beginning to show it.
Keep it closer to its natural state and it may be easier for some people to enjoy.
Fats. Proteins. Nutrients - all still there in abundance
If you’ve written it off… maybe it’s worth another conversation.

If people with diabetes were told clearly &unambiguously that if they stopped eating carbohydrate-rich foods they could probably arrest or reverse their diabetes, thousands of lives & billions of dollars could be saved? @DiabetesUK https://t.co/ywVLjLO14r

Pre-diabetes? Eat more fruits and wholegrains Really? Most grains put blood sugar up. Isuggest eating nutrient dense foods that don’t put up your blood sugar which is NOT the same. In our clinic ‘In patients with prediabetes, 93% attained a normal HbA1c’ https://t.co/iobKd5LmDx

What a humble and inspiring man @lowcarbGP is. His amazing work started with a curiosity of a patient who had cured T2 diabetes with diet. His decade of results prove the value of diet for diabetes and beyond. The data are outstanding. Are other GPs not curious/ interested?
No wonder people are turning their noses up at fake meat... it's not healthy, it won't save the planet, and it tastes like burnt dog food, says food industry expert JOANNA BLYTHMAN, as sales of plant-based burgers collapse https://t.co/6Nk3KFtSqj
